Magical

We had a magical stay at Eaglerock. This is such a special place. It is even more beautiful than the photos. We loved Applecross. The fantastic view of Skye without the crowds. Catherine is a fantastic host. Highly recommend!!

Eagle Rock is nothing short of exceptional

This property is exactly what we were looking for in a vacation retreat! We only had four of us staying in this large house but found it very warm and welcoming. The location is very remote and quiet, which suited our vacation plans perfectly! The home is outfitted exceptionally well and the kitchen has everything we needed. There are plenty of beautiful sitting areas both inside and out so you can choose to be in a quiet nook or in a cozy group gathering. The home is nicely decorated and makes you feel like you are at home! Catherine was away during our stay but was very communicative up to our arrival. Catherine’s friend Jane stayed locally and was very helpful with any questions and also made great suggestions for local activities. We had a wonderful stay here!

Perfect Getaway!

Our stay at Eagle Rock was everything we had hoped for at Applecross. Our drive over the Bealach na Ba pass, the sea kayaking and the botany walk with Gill were all highlights. But most impressive for our group was staying at Eagle Rock. Plenty of room for us to spread out and it didn't take long for the house to become our home. Bedrooms were very comfortable. The hot tub was incredible. Definitely order your groceries to be delivered by Tesco. That worked out really well for our group. Be sure to eat at both Applecross Inn and the Walled Garden (have the Forgers Lunch). A shout out to Jack Marris' Photography. Catherine was a special host. She took very good care of us. I feel like we have a new friend. Catherine's art and book collections were a nice surprise. We highly recommend Eagle Rock for your stay in this special place in the Highlands. Hope to get back for a 2nd trip.

Superb Stay at Eagle Rock

Stayed for a week. We had great weather for sunbathing on the deck. The hot tub is a real bonus with perhaps the best hot tub views in the planet. Property super comfortable with everything you could want and more. Cath is great, gave us superb welcome showed us round then disappeared. A simply wonderful week and we wished we booked longer. We will 100% use Eagle Rock again probably for a large celebration party. Can recommend Eagle Rock to small group looking for space and relaxation or large group looking for same or to do some serious partying. Thanks Cath for a wonderful week at your fabulous property

Perfection!

We had a fabulous week at Eagle’s Nest, 4 adults, 6 children aged between 4 and 12 and our Labrador! It was a 13 hour drive to get to beautiful Applecross but it was so worth it! Days were spent relaxing in the brilliantly equipped and comfortable house, enjoying the fabulous sushine, exploring the beaches, foraging, kayaking, playing with the resident chickens, eating too much at the great local pub and messing around in the hot tub on the cliff...those views! From initial enquiry until we waved a sad goodbye, Cath was brilliant. So responsive over email, chatty on the phone and so warm and relaxed in person. We’d love to come again one day, we can’t recommend Eagle’s Nest enough!

Eagle Rock Delivers! Unique UK staycation

A great and easy-to-enjoy house in a spectacular location. The village of Applecross, the huge views over the inner sound with the ever-changing sky, and the adventure of the local roads and hikes gave us more than enough to do. The hosts were superb and readily available, and kind to our children. Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful!

We absolutely loved our stay at Eagle Rock! We had 5 adults and 2 children, ages 2 & 4. We had a warm welcome and everything obtaining to the house was explained to us. Everything was clean and well stocked. I loved the house decor and even bought a beaded highland cow from the home owner, I love it! You definitely need to either bring your own groceries or have them delivered by Tesco. There is a SMALL shop down the road but not big enough to fill your fridge with needed items. We bought a kite from the Shop and had a great time playing with the kids in the back yard. Even though you still need to watch the kids, there is a fence protecting the kids from the cliff edge. That was my biggest concern before arriving at the house but the edge isn't as close as it looks in the photos. The house layout was perfect and we couldn't of been happier! The view were breathtaking and the hiking that's close by is great. Overall we were very happy with the house and hosts, and my kids didn't want to leave!

Bliss over the mountain

Just fantastic in all respects. The house is exactly as described although no words can do justice to the splendor of its position and the extraordinary views. It is superbly equipped and extremely comfortable and Catherine is a wonderful host!

Incredible, welcoming home at the end of the earth

Eagle Rock is a warm, welcoming home in a charming, tiny Scottish town in one of the most naturally spectacular settings I have ever seen. Catherine treated us all as family. Eagle Rock sits on the waters edge ( as does the hot tub!) with views of all variety of mountains and the Isle of Skye. Speaking of the sky--it is an ever changing vista, one moment painted in shades of blues and greys and the next, a spectacular sunset of pinks and oranges over the sea. The people of the village were most welcoming and the surrounding area provides opportunities for exploring and short or long hikes. The food and small village ambience of the pub in town made us feel like Highlanders. I can't say enough about what an amazing, once in a lifetime experience we had.

Eagle Rock Magical Setting

Eagle Rock is the most dramatically situated lodging that you will ever encounter, and the beautiful home opens onto the landscape so that you enjoy the outdoors even when you are inside. The house is very comfortable and welcoming, but above all guests maximize their Highland experience with the wonderful vistas. There is so much to explore in the area, but staying on the decks overlooking the sea and islands may prove too tempting to allow too much time away from Eagle Rock itself. Catherine is such a delight, and very knowledgeable about off-the beaten track surprises awaiting her guests, according to their specific interests.

Amazing house with incredible view!

If you want to see the Highlands, I can think of no better place to go than Eagle Rock. The setting is amazing - completely unspoiled, almost as if you were in another world - and the house has every comfort while being both beautiful and very unique in they decor. On top of all, the owner truly is on top of everything and has a wonderful way of anticipating one's needs, arranging tours, etc. This is a real find! I feel very lucky I had the good fortune to stay there. Go to Eagle Rock!

Exceptional! A very magical place!

We absolutely adored our time at Eaglrock and wish we never had to leave. All of our expectations were exceeded and Cath was an amazing host. We loved the beauty both inside and outside the home. It's incredibly well equipped and was perfect for our large group. We also loved that we could walk to the pub and yet still felt incredibly secluded. Felt like we met so many of the locals while we were there and loved the small community feel to Applecross. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Can't recommend this place enough! Already dreaming of how to get back...

Wonderful site with complete facilities

Site was beautiful with fantastic views. Complete facilities , spacious rooms and baths, and all amenities. Staff from top to bottom was attentive to every need and went the extra mile at all times to provide complete service. Planned activities filled the days without over exertion. Learned much about Scottish culture, life, history, and people . Local pub within easy walking distance with fine food and excellent views and choices of drink. Would highly recommend to any traveler who wishes to get away from big city touring and wants to see rural Scotland at its finest. Superb time and would do it again at Eagle Rock!

Eagle Rock Inn was a spectacular venue in every wa

Catherine Stewart and her staff at Eagle Rock welcomed us with open arms and took care of our every need. The food was spectacular, the house comfortable, and the site - right on the water- was breathtakingly beautiful. In addition, Cath and her Highland experts took us on many walks around the Applecross Peninsula. I would highly recommend this corner of the Scottish Highlands to all those who love to admire and walk about in a beautiful, rugged place.

Eagle Rock est une splendide maison, spacieuse, décorée avec énormément de goût, perchée sur un rocher, avec une vue magnifique sur la mer et l’ile de Raasay. La vue du jaccuzzi est magique. Applecross offre une série d’activités (balades, culture, paysages et gastronomie) et Catherine est toujours disposée à vous fournir les informations que vous souhaitez. Le fish and chips de l’Applecross Inn est un régal. En bref, Eagle Rock est un lieu qu’on ne voudrait jamais quitter

Exceeded All Expectations!

Our 5-day stay at Eagle Rock was part of a two-week girls' trip through Scotland, and all four of us agreed that it was the highlight of the trip. The house is stunning. It has every amenity we could imagine, and then some. It is new, well maintained, and artistically decorated and furnished. All the bedrooms and baths were comfortable and luxuriously appointed (e.g., the kind of quality linens rarely found in rental houses). We learned that the kitchen was designed by an award-winning chef, and it did not surprise us. The use of the space, the furnishings, and the breathtaking views of the water and Isle of Skye made it the central focus of the house for us. The local caretakers, Mark and Frances, were very friendly and helpful. We had selected Eagle Rock and Applecross without knowing exactly what the location would be like for touring. What we found was a picturesque village with charming people. It isn't a large town, but there are excellent restaurants, a grocery with all the necessities, relaxing walks along wooded paths, and lots of history. The town is definitely remote, but it was easy enough to drive to Isle of Skye, Eilean Donan Castle and other attractions. We mastered the Bealach na Ba route in no time, cutting a good 30-40 minutes off the drive along the coast road. But in actuality, Eagle Rock house was so interesting and well located, that it became one of the attractions itself. We were enthralled looking at all the beautiful furnishings and art and guessing the provenance. We did have the pleasure of briefly meeting the owner, Catherine Stewart. She is an amazing world traveler and accomplished artist, and we would have enjoyed a few more gin and tonics with her! It was obvious that Eagle Rock is one of her passions. It was equally obvious that she wanted all her guests to have the best experience there possible. As you can tell from this glowing report, we loved our time at Eagle Rock and Applecross. It truly exceeded all our expectations.

Simply the best!

I've been at Eagle Rock now with my family and as a women's retreat leader, and all I can say is: perfect. Stunning. Eagle Rock is the one place my family can't wait to get back to. The views, always beautiful and ever changing, are to die for. The house is elegant and yet homey. Very comfortable and comfy and well equipped. The place is magical and mysterious. The location is unsurpassed:pure, raw beauty, plenty of local trails that are our favorites, woods, sea, mountains, history, sacredness.The local food and restaurants are divine. The icing on the cake is the owner, Cath, who is the perfect hostess and a wealth of information. Plus she is an amazing ARTiST! We can't wait to return.

A lovely property

I attended a women's retreat in October of 2017. For 10 of us the house was an amazing location for our gathering. Each room of the house is beautifully appointed and the views are outstanding. The location is very convenient also. It's a quick walk to town or to hiking trails. Catherine Stewart was quick to answer all questions and address all concerns. She is an incredibly attentive and hospitable hostess. I loved that there were so many things to do close to the house. We enjoyed dinner at the Applecross Inn (two times, in fact), dinner at the Walled Garden Restaurant, a foraging hike with Gill Fair-weather, a hike to the Coral Beach, and more. I would absolutely recommend this to friends. Actually, I hope to return with my family some day!

Stunning

I almost hate to say how special Eagle Rock and the owner Catherine are. The house and property are stunning. Applecross is remote, but you have every creature comfort provided and the area has good food, trails and history in abundance.

Fantastique

Les paysages exceptionnels, la faune et la flore ainsi que l'accueil et la gentillesse des habitants font de l'Ecosse une destination magique! Cette maison située face à la mer et non loin du coeur de village a contribué à rendre notre séjour inoubliable. Elle est spacieuse, lumineuse, bien équipée, propre et surtout avec une vue à couper le souffle. Catherine est particulièrement gentille (à l'image des habitants du village). Elle est de bon conseil sur les lieux et choses à faire durant le voyage. Sa disponibilité et ses efforts pour échanger avec nous en français sont forts appréciables. Petit conseil, un passage au pub (Applecross Inn) pour se restaurer et rencontrer les habitants de ce petit village est incontournable! En conclusion : des paysage sublimes, une maison grandiose, des habitants d'une rare gentillesse.
