"We enjoyed our stay here. You can tell there is a lot of love that goes into maintaining the house and the gardens. The gardens were especially lovely with everything starting to bloom. One thing I would suggest is more night lighting, especially around the stairs in the master bedroom and living room. My mom (age 77) took a tumble (she was OK!) because she missed the stair leading down into the bedroom and I think some extra night lighting around the stair area would have helped with that."

It's centrally located for easy exploring of all parts of the island-- from Doe Bay and Obstruction Pass to Deer Harbor. We loved the garden setting. "Super sweet views of the water, islands, & sky. Very nice private beach, and peaceful setting. The kitchen is well equipped. Bed was comfortable, couch and chairs were comfortable. The code to the door didn’t work, and after trying it numerous times, we texted Vacasa and they responded with a different code for the lock box which got us in with a key. The light above the stove, under the microwave was burned out, so cooking was dimly lit. I’m sure they will replace the bulb tho. The coffee...

"This rental was very nice with fantastic views of Sucia & Matia Islands. The house is large with lots of sleeping options. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub utilized after some good hiking days. The sunny but cool spring weather allowed us to lounge by the wood burning stove. Having a truck, I opted to back down the narrow driveway which I thought was easier to manage. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home."

"We stayed at the cottage-in-the-Barn for a couple nights with two college age kids and dogs. We loved the quiet setting and found it to be a great base for exploring Eastsound and other parts of the island. The cottage was clean and light and charming. It was beautiful in late winter but with the gardens and greenhouse, it must be wonderful in spring and summer!"

There’s a walk in closet in the bedroom which fits the cot so we were able to have our 2yr old sleep in a bit of a separate space which felt cozy to her. Our 5mo old slept in the pack n play in the main space which also worked well. We were in walking distance to everything in town and the host was very communicative and approachable. "We had a lovely week on Orcas Island. Place was great and had everything we needed. Walkable to area restaurants and shops. Loved being able to look out over the water and sit outside. Having lwasher/dryer was very helpful. The only negative was the sleeper sofa mattress was very thin and you could feel the springs"

"We went during winter so there was no one else there but the room was perfect and private hot tub was a plus! Absolutely amazing view and the island itself was a lot of fun to explore. 10/10 experience and will definitely come back again. "
