"While this stay lacks in the polished stays of a fancy resort it makes up ten-fold in charm and personality. This was the coziest most wonderful stay we've had on our trip yet and we'll definitely be back. Located a mere 4 minute walk from the train station and a 1 minute from the beach this was the low key break we needed. The stay was clean with great amenities. "清潔感があり、1階のオーナーは気さくな方で必要な物などは相談に乗ってくれるみたいです。鍵の受け取り方法は日程が近くなったらサイトを通じて連絡があることは把握しておくと良いと思います。疑問があればサイトを通じて問合せをしたら丁寧に回答をして頂けます。連泊時にタオル交換はされてませんでしたので、オーナーに声をかければ交換してくれるんだろうとは思いましたが、手持ちのタオルがあったので使用しました。駐車場1台分なので、車2台以上の方はオーナーに駐車場事情などを確認すると良いと思います。"

"From beginning to end it was an awesome experience. It made me want to extend my stay. Staff was awesome, everyone was very helpful from the door men to the cooks. Dinner was delightful, breakfast was amazing. The hotel was very clean from the outside to our room. The rooms are beautiful, we had the river view room. All the amenities where great & clean. 10/10 i recommend. I will be returning"

"A truly incredible experience!! The room, amenities, food and staff were all phenomenal!! As soon as you walk into the room, you are greeted with the most amazing views and private onsen. My husband and I wanted to make this trip special and I’m so glad we booked this property because it achieved that goal. I would absolutely recommend this property to any person visiting Hakone. It was amazing! Also, the food packages are absolutely worth it— at the very least book the breakfast and then grab dinner separately one of the nights!"

"We stayed one night at Kasuitei Ooya, and it turned out to be the highlight of our time in Japan. The ryokan gets the traditional experience right without it feeling staged — tatami rooms, yukata, and a real sense of care in everything. Our room had a lake view and a private bath, which our teenagers enjoyed as much as we did. The kaiseki dinner was outstanding: beautifully presented course after course with local ingredients we didn't see anywhere else on the trip, and breakfast the next morning was just as good. The onsen is on the 7th floor, and the same floor has a viewing area where we caught the clearest Mt Fuji view of our stay at sunrise. What tied it all together was the staff. From check-in through to the shuttle back to the station, they were warm, unhurried, and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we asked. If you're deciding whether to build a ryokan night into a Japan trip, this is the place to do it."
