We loved the location in Avellanas as we could walk to the beach, little coffee shop, and other little restaurants. It’s also a good base to explore nearby beach towns and a short drive into Tamarindo town. This place was perfect for the 5 of us: 4 adults and a child. The pool is nice and a great place to have your morning cup of tea and read a book. Dennis was incredibly helpful and kind. Would definitely book again!

Great House, has everything, 10 min walk to Avellana Beach, The property is only 5 houses, so you are in your private secluded area, the house has 3 room with AC split system, well equipped, Dennis was always there for any question, there is a tree in the back of the house that always have several monkeys jumping or relaxing. Avellana town its a really quiet town, will be back thanks again for this wonderful place

This beautiful property has it all , wonderful beds, an outdoor shower, pool, great kitchen, fantastic restaurants and most of all the beaches never get old. The sunsets are amazing !The host Donald went above and beyondTo make sure are stay was comfortable. I hope to be back with the entire family next time. I highly recommend renting a car or truck so you can do more exploring. Thanks Donald !

Close to a wonderful beach

Overall we really enjoyed our stay in the villa. Check in was easy, location was great, it was close to the beach and good restaurants. We loved the layout of the villas (5) of them in a circle with a shared courtyard/pool. Our kids made friends with other children staying in the other units which was nice. The villa itself needs a deep clean. It seemed as if no one had stayed there in months as everything was dusty and the dishes were very dusty/dirty. We had a couple issues with the A/C in one of the bedrooms and the sink not draining properly but communication was good and the issues were fixed promptly. The listing says that there would be bath towels and beach towels provided, but the towels were limited and no beach/pool towels were provided. We used the bath towels for the beach and for showering. The shower in the bathroom never gets very hot, which we didn’t mind too much since the temp outside was hot. Cute villa with wonderful nature and close to the beach, just needs some TLC.

Laid back and relaxed

First off, Donald was a great host and very responsive. I had difficulty finding the property but that is most likely due to being up for over 24hrs. The property was as listed. Nothing fancy but suited our needs. We loved the location as it is away from the areas with heavy tourist traps. Locals were very friendly and safe- would recommend the area/property for families with young and older children. The only complaint I have is the dogs barking in the middle of the night. One night I was up three different times to two dogs barking for 5-10 minutes. Other than that issue I’d give it a five star. The access to the beach is a 10-15 minute walk. Very easy walk and good surfing for novice/intermediate surfers. The beach had very few people given it is a busy time of year. I find the food and activities in this area cheaper than other parts I visited. More bang for your buck. If anyone needs any advice feel free to reach out.

A month away from the cold

My wife and I loved this property. We stayed for a month! The place met our expectations and having fiber internet connectivity helped so we could keep our work commitments without interruption. The pool is the perfect size and the local restaurants were reasonably priced and convenient. Access to the beach via a path next to the property made beach access very easy and private.

Relax at playa avellanas

If you like quick access to a beach that is totally laid back and no tourist hustle and bustle this is amazing. Lots of restaurants still close to Tamarindo and all the activities but quiet and no crowds. The space is wonderful and Kathy was very helpful. Malaysian the dog would come for a visit and help us not miss our dogs

Great location, great trip

We had a greta stay at Villa #5. Met all of our needs. Kathy and Dennis were more than accommodating, and super responsive when we had some minor issues. Donald was also super responsive, going out of his way to respond, when he himself was out of country. We traveled aroudn a lot while in CR, and found Playa Avellanas to be one of the best beaches. Amazing restaurants for this area, and great organic stores close by (Jalapeno Market and Surya). The road is less than ideal, but typical CR. We were visited daily by Howler monkeys, frogs, toads, birds, and the beautiful dog Nalla, who resides with the caretakers. Comfy beds, good water pressure, and great little pool to cool off in at the end of the day. The walk to the beach from here is less than 10 minutes. We would definitely recommend this place and would stay again. Staff at Barumis were amazing as well - great food!

Nice accommodations in beautiful Playa Avellanas

This property was nice to stay in. It’s quite close to the listing description. Good information on location of beach and how to get to the property. Our only feedback would be there was nobody there to meet us which upon arriving which was confusing as we didn’t know what casa was ours and how to obtain keys, this was challenging because the brochure Wi-Fi password is not correct so we had trouble trying to communicate with the host Until we found our keys in the door. Donald was very prompt at dealing with a couple requests. We had off the bat. Overall a nice experience.

Great Playa Avellanas Stay

I have been traveling to Costa Rica regularly for 30 years. This is a great stay for a family of 5 or 6, or for a group of friends. The price is right. The location and accommodations are perfectly matched. Everything needed is within walking distance or a short 15/20 minute drive. The house is fully loaded with all of the necessities to enjoy a vacation. The communication was excellent and the caretakers were friendly and knowledgeable. The icing on the cake was Nala, one of the caretakers dogs who stayed by our side, each time we took the short walk to the beach. Her adopting us as a family really made the trip for our kids. We definitely recommend The Beachwalk and will stay there again in the future.

Great stay

Great experience. Property was well taken care of. Villa was clean, comfortable and had all the things we needed for a 2 week stay with a 1 year old. The caretakers were very sweet people who were there to help with anything. The owners responded very quickly when needed and were very nice people. Overall a great stay. We will be back

Very comfortable and clean space

We truly enjoyed our time in Avellanas Beach, this home was clean and comfortable. It was centrally located within walking distance of a yummy restaurant and gelato spot; and a short drive to other restaurants and beautiful beaches. The neighborhood is quite and safe. We loved the privacy of the property and pool access for quick dips in the morning and evening before and after adventures. I highly recommend!

Calme et près de la plage

Playa Avellanas est une très belle plage. L’accueil par Kathy était très bien. Un peu loin des services (épicerie, restaurants) mais l’endroit et très bien, petite piscine et sécuritaire.

Low key and relaxing.

The rental was in a gated cluster of 5 cottages surrounding a communal pool and cabana area. There was grounds keeper living next door with a couple of watch dogs which alerted them to anyone coming and going. It was a little difficult to find bc we were coming in at night and there wasn't a sign or anything. The people at Barumis (restaurant just before the road you turn to get there, helped us find it. The rental was about a 15 min walk to the beach down a dirt road. When we were there the road had a few spots with water to wade through. Also to get to the beach there were a few places you had to wade through the estuary but it never got deeper than thigh level. The easier and quicker way to the beach was by car which only took a few min. Parking was never a problem. There are several really good restaurants within walking distance. Avellanas is MUCH more laid back than Tamarindo. There is a place on the beach to rent surf/boogie boards. The beach is great for learning to surf. It is a beautiful beach...wide, clean, shallow a long way out with warm water. There is an awesome guided horse ride along the beach that is a 7 min drive from the rental called Guti Tours. It's a family run business. The father trains the horses and the brother (Andre) and sister help on the ride. I highly recommend it if you stay there and like to ride horses. Thank you to the hosts Cindy and Donald for a lovely stay!!

Slice of paradise

Wonderful location, wonderful groundskeeper, and wonderful vibes all make this place very relaxing. The host kindly gave us an excellent tip after we checked in to stock up at the grocery store on our way into town. You can pick up some amazing coffee at the stores on the way and the hosts have a big coffee maker. This beautiful place also has filtered drinking water so no need to buy that. There were AC units that were great to have but in June, we only turned on the AC for one night as the temps were quite pleasant. We would love to return, again!! Thank you for having us!!

Playa Avellanas never disappoints.
