Tangier Tangier Island Beach Hotels

"The location and views really are as fantastic as they look in the pictures. The house is lovely and in a rural area with lots of farm fields. Owners were very responsive to a couple of questions. We ate most meals on the deck. The ferry next door is neat (and quiet) - we enjoyed both watching it and taking it across. The kayaks look new; unfortunately it was too windy during our stay to use them. The dock (to the right) is in excellent condition. The only downside at all from our trip was what someone else mentioned in the comments - the cookware is non-stick and terribly scratched up which is not healthy. So if that bothers you, you might bring your own pan. Otherwise fully equipped, even a pizza cutter, with very nice kitchen appliances including a toaster oven, microwave, waffle-maker and crock pot. Food Lion is 20 minutes away. We drove to Kilmarnock to the Compass Entertainment Center which is clean, well-run and very cool for teenagers...really well done. I would highly recommend this house and would definitely rent it again. It is quite the amazing piece of property - basically a corner lot on the water."

"The staff at this hotel are amazing!!! We were treated like family. Our dog Henry got treats, pats and lots of love from all the staff that he met. They made our six night stay very pleasant and memorable. We will definitely stay there the next time we’re in Virginia."

"We chose to stay here for a last minute long weekend getaway and it was perfect. The kitchen is well equipped and tons of space in the dining room. Beds were super comfortable. We enjoyed the company of the cows and chickens off the back porch. The sunsets here are awesome. The property also has access to a boat ramp and dock on site, great for a bay fishing boat. The hosts were great, southern hospitality at its finest and we can’t wait to return. "

"Room “looked clean”, but once you’ve walked in you’re hit with a wet carpet smell that doesn’t go away. Bed and sheets didn’t have a bad smell. Shower had visible brown water stains almost like the water was not good to use. Did not use shower. Slept a couple hrs and left."

The location is conveniently located within walking of restaurants, cafe, pub and a community theater. I would definitely stay here again."
