“My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.”

“Front desk staff, Janet and Dianne were very nice and helpful, although at the time of check in our room was not ready, Janet made every effort to accommodate us!! Clean and quiet room, easy parking. we definitely recommend this location. ”

“The room was bare ones, yet clean. What I didn't like was that the windows didn't open so you couldnt get fresh beach air through the room. ”

“Everything was clean and everyone was very nice. The kids enjoyed the pools and hot tub and it has great beach access. Our room was cleaned each day and we recieved new towels each day. Overall this is a very well managed, but dated, hotel.”

“This historic Inn was great, room was spacious and we just loved the nostalgic feel. The breakfast made you feel like you were at home and not at a run of the mill hotel with a continental breakfast. The location was perfect for the event we were attending which was right across the street. The staff were super friendly, and we would highly recommend planning your stay here.”

“This is our second year staying at this hotel. It’s super clean, the staff is very friendly, the beds are comfortable, great water pressure in the shower also. The indoor pool is a great amenity! We will totally be back!”

“Could not sleep next door baby crying ...., bathroom toilet does not flush well. Alarm went off 6 am which I did not set up. No internet access even with password. ”

“Bill and Veda made our stay at the Cypress House Inn so warm, inviting and comfortable! The rooms were clean, bed was comfortable with both firm and soft pillows provided, and bathroom was beautifully designed with a roomy shower and handheld showerhead for convenience. Right outside our room was a well-stocked coffee and tea bar with filtered water available. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and it was such a delight to share it with Bill, Veda, and the other guests who were staying. Location……

“They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”

“So comfortable, quiet, and clean. Bed was super comfy. Easy access, easy parking and a super short walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again!”
