"The staff need more training they don’t know how to interact with customers. It would be good if they smiled sometimes as well! It felt like we were an inconvenience. This applies to the reception person and the breakfast staff. "

"We stayed in a classic room, which was spacious and comfortable. You can park at the front of the hotel to unload then move your car. Breakfast had a varied choice although slow with the tea & coffee. "

"The hotel.was ideally situated to explore Buxton. The area where the hotel was is lovely and quiet. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We only stayed for 1 night which usually means you get a small room but the room was a good size. The floorboards outside in the corridors are very creaky which kept us awake at times and had we stayed longer it would have disturbed our sleep but other than that I would definitely stay here again."

"Elegant building, excellent central location, peaceful surroundings, nice views, comfortable bed. One kitchen cupboard was so high that we couldn't reach any small glasses or the cafetiere - had to make do without - even using the steps provided (and we are of average height). Cleaners brought stained towel at changeover day, and left long hairs on our bed when they changed the bedding. But in spite of this we enjoyed our stay."
