2. Boulders Beach

Few places in the world offer such intimate encounters with these creatures. With safe swimming and stunning scenery on offer as well, Boulders Beach is well worth the 25-mile (40-kilometer) trip from Cape Town.

3. Table Mountain

When you reach the top of Table Mountain, take a deep lungful of the crisp, mountain air more than 3,500 feet (1 kilometer) above sea level. Cast your eye out across Table Bay, with Cape Town and its curving coast stretching into the distance. The view is one of the most spectacular in the whole of Africa. Do note though that it can be considerably cooler at the summit.

4. Clifton Bay Beach

6. Cape Town Stadium

8. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens

Long renowned as one of the world’s finest botanical gardens, Kirstenbosch is also unique for being the first public garden of its kind to feature exclusively indigenous plants. The wealth of plant life native to South Africa makes Kirstenbosch a fascinating attraction. More than 7,000 varieties of plant, from the verdant areas around the cape as well as more arid regions, are housed within the garden’s 88 acres (36 hectares).
