The room was nice, we were not expecting a washing machine and microwave in the room and so that was a great bonus. The hotel is directly next to tjr major food and bar area around Shimbashi station and so there are lots options for food. The only downside was the WiFi in the hotel room was awful. It was extremely slow despite being listed as reasonably strong signal. I would like to see this improved as further hotels on our stay WiFi has been flawless so it wasn’t just our devices, and we used the router that was provided for us at check in.

Hotel is maybe a 5-10 mins walk from Shimbashi Station. I arrived few hours earlier than the check-in time. Grateful for the hotel staff to help me do pre-check in, getting my check-in details first. I left my bags at the hotel before making my way around the city. Came back in the evening to complete my check-in and voila, the receptionist passed me my room card and bags were already in the room. Kudos for this. As for the room itself, when it comes to hotel rooms in Tokyo itself, big space is hard to come by. I had one medium luggage and 1 big backpack. Space will feel tight once you open your luggage. Other than that, the room was clean and decent. Very eco-friendly, they only change towels upon guest’s requests. Housekeeping only for guests rooms staying 7 nights or more. For me, it was for 4 days so I only had my towel change daily.

Great location only a short walk to Shimbashi station. Room was clean, spacious enough for me and my luggage, and had all the amenities needed for a longer stay in Tokyo (washer/dryer, microwave, hair dryer, water boiler, iron, mini fridge). Would definitely stay at this location again. Staff was very polite and nice. Area has lots of restaurants and convenience stores in walking distance.

Staff are really nice even some of them are not able to speak much English, but surely helpful. Shower head is strong enough for me compare to some other hotel which could be very weak. Bathroom, decent size. Having a washer/dryer is definitely a surprise even I didn’t really use them. Microwave works great and clean. Pillows are best fits me among the hotels I’ve stayed.

Non smoking is not really an option
In a non-smoking room it definitely smells like someone smoked in there, especially someone that handled the pillows and the sheets. They need to do better and accommodate those who do not smoke. I would never stay here again.

This is my second time staying at Tokyu Stay Shinbashi. I like it because of its convenient location (ie. short walk to Shinbashi Station and nearby dining.) The room was small - even by Tokyo standards - but very clean. My one complaint is that the room I had was on the side of the hotel facing the trains and I could hear them in the room - starting from 5am until midnight. This could pose a problem for light sleepers.

Pros: Close to train station - Shimbashi, less than 5 mins from Tokyo station on the Yamanote Line, and 12 mins to Ueno station. Washing machine in the room. Good powerful shower. Close to lots of restaurants. Cons: 1 large single bed (equivalent of Uk 4ft small double), which was pushed against the wall and only place to open the suitcase was on the bed. Was a bit more of squish that we originally thought, as two slim brits we were constantly climbing over the bed and suitcases to get past each other. Compared to other hotels in Japan they were quite light on receptionists, frequently having none in reception. Those that were there were very nice though!

Good place to cook your own food
What I like about this hotel is the washing machine and the kitchenette (with a small cooking pot, electric stove, plates, and utensils). A small dinner table is also provided. Breakfast is also complimentary. We bought food from a nearby supermarket to cook for dinner. The room is quiet despite being very near to a busy cross junction.

Average sized hotel room in Japan. Our room was dusty. We kept sneezing during our stay. The refrigerator in the room isn't very cold. The staff were very polite and welcoming! This hotel has a really good restaurant that's attached. Overall, I would recommend Tokyu Stay Shimbashi to anyone travelling to Tokyo

Great hotel for solo travelers. The rooms are small but typical by Tokyo standards. Rooms are only lightly serviced everyday for stays under 6 days (new towels/sleepwear and trash taken out). If you leave your "do not disturb" sign on, they will leave a bag with new linens outside of your door. Most rooms also have a full-size washer/dryer that will finish a complete load in about 3 hours. My rate included breakfast and the buffet in the restaurant downstairs was good. The closest station exit is A1 for the Asakusa Line and the hotel is about 3-4 minutes walk away.
