"This hotel is a hidden gem with helpful and friendly staff. Feels like a b&b with cooked breakfast, games area for adults and kids. The staff went above and beyond - helping us with transport to our next destination, making calls (in Japanese) and driving us to our shuttle connection. Rooms were comfortable and warm. It’s about 10mins from the town centre but they do offer pick up and drop offs from the train, and it makes it quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend! "

"Very thoughtful and helpful staff, always offering us heat packs/ umbrella when we leave in the morning. Onsen is small but has both indoor and outdoor areas, good vanity supplies and hair dryer. Location is excellent if you drive and want to be based near the Hoshino resort area. Plenty of things to explore within 20min drive from hotel."

"my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Hoshinoya Karuizawa. We had a wonderful stay. The onsen within the hotel was really good. Both of us enjoyed the facilities. We would like to especially thank the staff Miyu( dining),Saru, Takahashi(spa) and Leo san (front desk ) who took care of us during our stay . "
