"We traveled during an unfortunate weather event-Hurricane Rachel (then tropical storm). We did ask in advance if there was a weather advisory, but were told no. The property is lovely. Clean, well decorated, food and tequila are delicious. Rooms are spacious. The place shuts down at 10pm so plan accordingly. We came after work on a Friday so got a late start. We spent Saturday out wine tasting as the weather rolled in. We returned to a little kit “in case power goes out”. 2 candles and a lighter. A little later we received a message the staff was leaving early to get home before the weather came. Fair-many roads in this area are dirt or prone to rock slides. But we never heard from staff again. Power and water were out all night (so no toilet-luckily we had brought a lot of our own drinking water), and our room was flooded. In the morning, we had no communication and no one was around. Again, some of this is to be expected given the severity of the storm and the nature of the roads in and out, but minimally, the hotel should have initiated communication to let us know the status of what was happening. We ended up leaving when the weather let up and they refunded us the night we didn’t stay. The roads out had large boulders and mudslides, so we were glad we left when we did. I’d recommend this place, just pay attention to weather and don’t expect Mexican tourism to be honest about advisories. The hotel is lovely. And we have funny stories, so there’s that."

"Our room was very clean I have no complaints. The staff where all nice and helpful. The breakfast that’s included is very good and very fresh. The restaurant is also very good but prices are high. We did do a relaxation massage for my husband and I. The lady that I got was aggressive despite me telling her I have RA. I did appreciate them leaving 2 wine bottles and glasses for my husband and I since we where there celebrating our anniversary and his birthday. I didn’t really like the fact that when we where going to the pool this couple had 2 dogs and they would not let us walk in. They where at the door and barking at us like crazy. I get they are protecting their humans I have a dog of my own and this is the reason I didn’t take her. I didn’t know how she would react towards others when at the pool and I didn’t find it fare for anyone to deal with my dog being over protective of us. It’s nice they allow dog but maybe they should tell them not to take them to the pool if they are aggressive. But besides that I would definitely be back. I highly recommend it and quiet, nice and very safe. I didn’t feel unsafe once."

"Solo hubo un par de detalles, el AC no estaba energizado y por la hora de llegada ya no alcanzamos a avisar, pero nada grave la noche no due tan calurosa y hubo un huésped inesperado en el baño, pero enviamos a otro Duranguence a hacerse cargo de él (alacrán y es entendible por la región y el calor), el resto todo bien solo asegúrense de revisar todo lo que necesiten en los horarios de recepción porque después de las 8:00 PM es un poco más complicado recibir atención pero si atienden, a mi me asistió un empleado a las 6:00 AM con agua potable que me moría de sed, no tuve oportunidad de disfrutar el resto de prestaciones pero en general estuvo muy bien el hospedaje."
