It was impossible to take a bad photo at this hotel. It’s has so much charm, large rooms and a gorgeous lake view from all guest areas. I would stay here again.

The property was very well maintained and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. The only drawback was the parking situation (very limited and a tight squeeze for our vehicle).

Good afternoon,how can you rate the hotel 2/10 if you have not been here?The policies are clear: the non refundable room are non refundable, or we have to call them in another way.It is not our fault if your journey had to be cancelled, we provided an invoice of the fee you paid, so you can claim a refound to your travell insurance.

Great hotel on the waters edge
Very nice hotel on the water. It is old but we enjoyed our stay very much. The area is very quiet and tranquil and the hotel gardens are beautiful and right on the water. Only negative was some of the furnishings are quite old.

Good evening,We think that there is a difference between "old" and "historical".Our hotel it is run with passion from 1910 by the same family.We try to propose something different by the standard modern hotels. In our rooms we have parquet, just in the corridors we have carpets (cleaned every day) and we will change in the next years.We have a private garage for our guests that wish to book it, in alternative there are public parking spaces but we do not gave control on them.

Worth the short drive (~20 min) from Lugano for the adventurous traveler that wants a unique experience vs. typical city hotel. Fantastic location on the shore of Lake Lugano. Charming property with amazing ambiance throughout, stunning views of the lake.

Title: Stellar Experience with Minor Flaws at Hotel Stella d'Italia During my stay at Hotel Stella d'Italia, I was impressed by the friendly staff, cleanliness, and tranquility of the premises. The stunning view from my room enhanced the overall experience. Unfortunately, the slow internet connection posed a challenge throughout my visit. The hotel's restaurant served an exceptional risotto, which was a highlight of my stay. However, the saturnine maître d's unsmiling demeanor and apparent displeasure to serve customers detracted from the otherwise enjoyable dining experience. In summary, Hotel Stella d'Italia offers a pleasant stay with a few areas ripe for improvement.

Set right on Lake Lugano, with amazing views of Lake Lugano. The rooms were nice with a balcony and the bathrooms were very nice. The staff was super friendly and professional. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant and the food was amazing.

Loved the private lake access of the hotel and the views were just beautiful. We really enjoyed the restaurant as well- the food and service were excellent. The rooms were clean and compact- the hallways would have needed a good vacuum. Be aware that there is no street parking so you need to factor in the extra charge for parking under the hotel. We wish the front desk would have a sign of their opening hours as we wanted to check out early and no one was there. What was the worst though is that the front door of the hotel was locked!! I had never been locked into a hotel before..

Nice hotel by lake Lugano
The location is amazing. The hotel has a nice lakeside area with sunbeds. The restaurant garden is by the lake and has great views. The hotel needs renovation especially in the rooms. The service in the restaurant varies depending on the waiter. It may take long time to order and occasionally they forget things. Food is good in general and sitting outside on warm weather is great.

Real Italy
This hotel had all the charm of real Italy. A short bus ride from the train station in Lugano on bus C12, you are delivered to the front door of the hotel. The rooms have balconies over looking the lake and mts. The water is clear and there are ladders and chairs on the water. Breakfast and other meals are served in a vine covered courtyard overlooking the water.

A good place next to a beautiful lake
The hotel is situated in front of the lake, which makes it quite special. Dinner was a pleasant experience because we sat right in front of the lake, but the food was a bit plain and relatively expensive. Waiters were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK - more bread options could be available. We felt a bit controlled on how much we could eat with waiters standing on the side staring at us. Wi-Fi was terrible and it would not work on our room on level 3.

This is our third year in a row at this hotel. Location is stunning and better place to have breakfast on a sunny morning than on the shores of the lake. Excellent staff. Highly recommended.

This hotel really does not do itself justice with it's website, the whole fabric of the building, the comfort and the superb location are far better than it's on-line description. The staff matched this wonderful hotel, friendly, professional and accommodating, I only wish we had stayed longer.

Vackra vyer och hotellet ligger precis vid stranden av sjön Lugano. En del detaljer på hotellet är dock behov av uppfräschning för att kunna klassas som ett topphotell.
