"Probably the best beach on the big island and perfect relaxing oasis for big island excursions. This resort when fully operational is probably the epitome of discrete luxury with an eco sensibility. Manta was delicious. The staff were kind and went above and beyond to meet guest demands. The Manta moonlight excursion was magical. Sad that the pool was closed but as an ocean oriented family with a beautiful bay at our doorstep we didn't miss it. Banana bread is exceptional."

"Stayed 10 days and overall very nice and enjoyable. It is a bit dated but very comfortable with everything you need. Seems to be more of a family spot. "The property is on a secluded beach about a half hour from Kona. The Gold Orchid Lounge was really nice and included breakfast and appetizers as well as juice, coffee and water. Most of the staff were excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The beach was a great place to watch sunset. It is close to Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours. We tried the restaurant Brown’s beach house. The ambiance with live music was nice. "
