「Everything was excellent 」

「We had a fantastic stay at this quirky and beautiful hotel. Even though we had booked the petite double room it didn't disappoint. As hotel rooms go it wasn't small. Beautifully decorated with beautiful ornate furniture and very comfy bed. Tea , coffee and water replenished every day. The breakfast and food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff were excellent, lovely and friendly. We would definitely go back. 」

「This review considers the amazingly low price we paid (£40), compared to other availability in the area. We requested (and booked) a family room, on arrival, we were given two double rooms opposite each other. Not a problem for our 1 night stay, but it could have been. The rooms were warm and clean, and had been newly decorated, the bedding was clean and crisp. The breakfast was adequate, all self serve, tea, coffee, juices, cereals, packet meats and pastries. 「Stayed in the Hadrian Suite which is a beautifully designed space, very impressive. Very warm welcome and friendly service throughout. Comfortable bar area downstairs with great dining options. Definitely recommend if you're visiting this stunning part of England – they will help with guidance for walks and dark skies star spotting etc. 」

「I was a completely unplanned visitor who trekked the moors at night to reach the Inn. Though the only thing that happened on the moors was fulfilling an American's silly Holmesian fantasy of walking the moors at night, everyone was concerned for my safety and I really appreciated that. My stay was wonderful, the food was really delicious, and everyone with whom I spoke was just up-front and pleasant. I will be back some day and guess where I'll stay?」

「Staff were really lovely and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet, and the hotel was perfectly situated in the centre of Hexham. The only issues were the very few parking spaces available, and the fact we could only park for up to 2hrs with a permit during the day, if there wasn’t any space in the tiny car park. But we loved the hotel itself and would recommend. 」

「Ideally located for Hadrian's Wall walkers and next to Milecastle Inn, we enjoyed one night's stay here. Very comfortable and we would probably choose to stay here for several nights if walking the national trail again. 」
