"I stayed in one of the historic rooms, which is historically small and unappointed. There wasn't even a chair, just a bed and a bathroom. If you wanted to sit, you could sit on the toilet or the bed. The staff were fine, the hotel at least in that area, is pretty shabby. I was unimpressed and I will not return."

The room was spacious and clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and we were able to make good use of the 24hr tea/coffee facilities and the heated pool. There is also a microwave in the communal area. Parking was plentiful (both at ground level and underground). I would recommend this hotel and would stay again on a return visit to Monterey."
