"Rooms were large. Two comfortable wide single beds in each room. Heating had been switched off in one of the rooms so it was cold on arrival. Could do with a refresh as a little scruffy and evidence of damp on the walls. Booking in was not very good. Supposed to be texted before arrival with room numbers and keysafe codes Had to ring to get access codes to key safes and room numbers. Unfortunately no chef so breakfast and dinner was not available, although a reasonable complimentary breakfast of cereals, sliced bread, spreads and yogurt was available. The pub side is warm and inviting with a good selection of good beers. The food menu looks very appealing. Shame we couldn’t try it. The staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Car park a bit tight."

"Very charming staff, great breakfast as well as thoughtful service, sorted a breakfast for my hubby to go and even remembered the order next day. Room was lovely and toasty, just what you need after a frolick in the forest. Slept very well. Lots of walks nearby, even saw owls. EXCEPTIONAL food, rare for these days they cater for folks with proper appetites! Loved the friendly field cat! Thank you for a wonderful time we loved it. 🙏"
