West Jefferson, NC - A short-5 minute drive will take you to downtown restaurants, breweries, galleries, the Cheese Factory, antique malls, Jefferson State Park, and Frosty’s Choose and Cut. This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small family or a girlfriends’ weekend. The cabin is 28 miles to Tweetsie Railroad, 25 miles to Appalachian State University, and 34 miles to the Grayson Highlands (please note all distances are approximate and travel times will vary). For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn.
The spacious master on main has a queen bed with a Temper-Pedic medium-firm mattress and high-end linens. The bathroom across the hall has a step-in shower, double sinks, and a *whirlpool soaking tub.
On the main floor there is a kitchen fully stocked with everything needed for the chef in the family to cook meals. Coffee lovers will appreciate having a drip coffee maker, a French press, or a Keurig to choose from. The kitchen opens up to the dining space and living room. There is also a propane gas grill on the deck for additional cooking options.
The living room has a beautiful view of the mountains and a gas fireplace for heat and ambiance during the cold months. There is a flat screen TV in this room with basic cable and a ROKU stick for you to access your streaming accounts. Board games, puzzles, and books are available to keep the kids occupied if there is a rainy, stay-in-place kind of day. WiFi speed is at 100mbps for those that need to work or just wish to stream movies.
The main deck, outfitted with plenty of rocking chairs, is the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night while watching the sunrise or sunset. You may have sightings of deer or wild turkeys and quail.
Two additional bedrooms are upstairs, as well as a shared bathroom. One room has a queen bed and the most beautiful view of the valley below and the mountain range beyond it. The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for children.
The lower level includes a media room with a large flat-screen tv and surround sound. This TV also has a ROKU stick, but the cabin is stocked with many DVDs from which to choose as well. The 2nd side of the basement has been recently finished out to include more heated square footage and seating space. It has a foosball table and a half bath. If you need to do laundry while staying, there is a washer and dryer located on this floor as well.
The cabin is decorated with artwork by local artists, and seasonal décor changes throughout the year. You will find it stocked with a starter supply of toilet paper, detergents, toiletries, and coffee pods. An Ingles grocery store is located only five minutes away for groceries.
