"Absolutely adore Kappa no Yado, and I still daydream of being in Togatta. 10/10 an absolutely beautiful experience. Every staff member was kind, helpful and thoughtful throughout our honeymoon. The grounds have a heartbeat, with hot spring water flowing through the town, bubbling forth rich life. The sounds of bear bells jingling in the street. The glow of modern Japan meets rural Japan in small notable ways."

"Great location in Zao onsen town. Very traditional—uniquely like “infinity castle” with stairs and tatami everywhere. The shuttle service from/to Yamagata station is a plus. Only public bathroom available, but there’s toilet in the room."

"The view from the room was excellent and lots of activities within the resort to keep you busy. Excellent food and hotel staff were very hospitable! Can’t wait to be back for another stay!"
