Small, beautiful apartment house "La Prairie", 4 storeys. In the district of Zer Bännu, 850 m from the centre, in a quiet, sunny position, south facing position. In the house: lift, storage room for skis, central heating system. Supermarket 750 m, restaurant 280 m, bakery 850 m, bicycle rental 850 m, bus stop "Wiestibrücke" 500 m, railway station "Bahnhof Zermatt" 850 m. Mountain railway 700 m, ski rental, ski bus stop 500 m, children's ski school 1.1 km, sled run 1.1 km. The keys‘ handover takes place by the agency Interhome in Zermatt.
2-room apartment 45 m2 on 1st floor, south facing position. Simple and cosy furnishings: living/sleeping room with 1 double sofabed (1 x 150 cm, length 200 cm), dining table and TV. Exit to the balcony. 1 room with 1 double bed (160 cm, length 200 cm). Open kitchen (oven, dishwasher, 4 induction hot plates, toaster, kettle, freezer, electric coffee machine, fondue Set (cheese)). charming & clean with a great view
My husband and I spent 3 days of a Christmas holiday at La Prairie. The view of the Matterhorn is as good as advertised and the walk to the town center is reasonable. The place is very clean and uncluttered and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook simple meals. Interhome also made it pretty easy to check-in at a late hour.
The only small complaints we had were these:
Even with the thermostat turned off the place was too warm to sleep and we had to leave the window open. The shower had good water pressure but it does not actually have any of the massage features we saw advertised in the photos. The checklist of things to do when leaving (take out trash, strip linens, wash and put away dishes) seemed like asking a bit too much considering the high cleaning and laundry fees we had to pay. All in all I would still recommend this place to vacationers.
