“Good friendly staff”

“Excellent, friendly service from all the staff. The hotel was a long walk along the front from the ferry terminal but taxis were available outside on the street in front of the port. Very nice breakfast each morning which offered porridge, kippers and boiled eggs to order as well as cereal, pastries and full English. The room was lovely and clean with views over the sea front (we paid extra for the sea view) In the evening a gentle man was playing the piano in the bar which was pleasant while……

“It's a bit dated, still very nice. Brett, the receptionist was awesome. Gave us great places to go and eat/drink. Very friendly people all around. Housekeeping was very good and refilled everything daily. Car rental gentleman were fun and informative. Bar staff friendly and accommodating. Just a nice place to stay.”

“My experience was very good if not excellent. Parking was a bit tricky as it’s a public parking and Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm restriction means you have to move your car every 2 hours, but if you’re spending the day out visiting places then parking restriction is not a worry.”

“Warm welcome, enjoyed delicious breakfast and nice chat with owners each morning. Facilities in good condition and well maintained. Decorated intentionally making guests a home stay feel. Near bus stop and promenade, also walkable distance to main streets and dock. To nitpick, there’s creaky sound walking on the wooden floor.”

“The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. ”

“No reception had to call via the phone number on Hotels.com to contact the host who would then meet you outside. Lovely location but the rooms are very small with very low ceilings. Comfortable bed but the place could do with a touch of style and finesse to make it a 5*. ”

“The property is your typical Victorian BnB and only a block back from the Promenade. The staff were very polite and attentive and the included breakfast was good. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, although as is typical for buildings this old the walls and ceilings are pretty thin. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. My only real complaint is that the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty, and tended to drop out randomly or just become very slow. Other than that, the hotel was very……
