"The atmosphere of a converted prison is unique. Parking across the river in the Altstadt parkplatz worked fine. Not the most convenient but if you want to stay in the old town it's pretty much required. Would stay again. "

"For one night @ CAD$102, this hotel is cheap. Carry change to pay for tax. Expedia advertises that you have to check in at a different location but we did not have to do that as property had front desk. The lobby reeked like cigarette, unsure if coming from outside or the bar/restaurant. Smaller hotel room but modernly renovated. Washroom is very tight as I noticed with all the washrooms in EU. "We were very pleased with this hotel choice. It was very close to the train terminal and in a nice location. We were greeted enthusiasticly and all our questions were answered in great detail. We had a cozy room which was a good size, not small at all, just the bathroom was small. Lastly, the included breakast was amazing. Delicious, fresh and a large variety of fruits, breads, etc. I would come again. It was a good value. "

"Hotel de la Paix was an excellent hotel for us - in east walking distance to all amenities and to the train station. The staff at the front desk were amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The beds were very comfortable. The guest rooms are basic, clean, and had every thing we needed. The breakfast buffet was very good - again with great service. "

"It must have some shady guests before ... there were signs to tell guests not to cook in the room, sign to tell guests about CHF 100 fine for letting the water leaked from under the shower door. BTW, the shower door is leaking if one uses its rain curtain shower head on top. The only way to avoid the water spilling on the door and leaking out of its bottom gap is to use the hand held. So it is an architectural design fault that the management tried to pin on the guests if they, God Forbid,...
