"The Ala Moana is conveniently located in Honolulu to the beach and many other tourist attractions. We did several tours on the island that were picked up at the hotel. We were able to walk to the beach in 5 minutes but avoid the human congestion of Waikiki. The hotel was clean, very comfortable and right next to a huge shopping center where we could get food and amenities we needed. The pool was very nice as was the weight room. We also rented a car and parked in the underground parking. We did not realize our double bed room was a $60/day upgrade from a single and parking was $40 a day which added another $800 to our trip. We would definitely stay there again."

"This property was located off the the main strip and secluded so it feels very private yet centrally located for every convenience shopping restaurants etc, and not over crowded like some resorts. Only semi inconvenience is the parking is not accessible directly to the hotel you have to come out of the parking build to access the hotel on top of the inconvenience you have to pay $50 a day plus tax to park your vehicle "

"Our experience at the Moana Surfrider was awesome. This historic gem of a hotel is located in the most perfect spot - steps away from Waikiki beach and steps away from a plethora of dining, shopping and entertainment options. Note: there is an ABC store across the street (if you know, you know), we visited the ABC store almost daily. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a premium room with balcony, boasting a stunning view of the ocean. However, much to our disappointment, the door to the balcony was sealed shut so we were unable to access this beautiful space. It would have been lovely to sit on our balcony and have a coffee or a drink. The evening entertainment at Vintage 1901 (located in the hotel lobby) was nothing short of fabulous. The entertainment, courtesy of the talented pianist David Swanson, really gets the crowd moving and grooving, it's a fun time for all! The pool is gorgeous, but chairs are on a first come first serve basis. Towel service is available to hotel guests at no charge. However, beach chairs, umbrellas and cabanas are available for rent and on a first come first serve basis. If you are not outside by the towel desk at 7am to make a reservation, you'll be out of luck. The front porch at the Moana Surfrider was a highlight for me. The porch is adorned with rocking chairs. I'd have coffee outside on a rocking chair in the morning, and champagne at night while people watching. Pro tip: in the evenings, pivot the rocking chairs on the right to face in"
