Traditional vegetarian eateries and silk merchants occupy centuries-old buildings showcasing intricate architecture. Experience the mesmerising evening Ganga Aarti ceremony with locals as oil lamps illuminate the river.

Mahmoorganj

Mahmoorganj bustles with energy as local vendors display colourful textiles, electronics, and handicrafts along narrow streets. The aroma of street food mingles with incense from nearby temples, creating an authentic Varanasi experience. Bargaining is expected in this budget-friendly shopping paradise. This commercial hub serves mainly locals, making it perfect for travellers seeking genuine Indian culture away from tourist traps. Trilok Residency

10/10 Excellent
"A good place to stay that is extremely well situated, a few steps away from the central ghat where we can see Artii ceremony and also centrally located to go walk in old town or to the south. Front desk person was very welcoming and nice. I received a lot of touristic information although I already had a guide. You have to walk a little bit to get there but they send someone to show the way and help with luggage. For the price, it is perfect. There is AC in the room and hot water for shower."

HOTEL DOLPHIN GRAND

HOTEL DOLPHIN GRAND

10/10 Excellent
"Nice hotel - we were there during a busy holiday so price was no doubt a bit higher but good location, walkable to many areas and the river. Staff was really nice. Room was clean. Only slight downsides were the sandals in the room were clearly used but they provided daily paper slippers. Also, bathroom design is a bit funny where you walk through the shower area to get to the toilet and sink. Thus, after a shower, you have to walk through a wet floor and also the sink/toilet area gets wet. But, minor issues. Breakfast had good variety and was tasty. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a cheaper place but not too budget."

"Excellent location, fair walking distance to the river, walking distance to KFC. Fair distance also to ISBT and Varanasi Junction. Lots of rickshaws avail everywhere. Wifi is excellent, room noise isolation is excellent, breakfast is pretty nice lots of choice (although no meat available at all), shower is very nice also, front staff excellent and they go beyond and above to help you with your questions and travel needs. Special thanks to Krishan, Shubham and Rishi, who really helped me above and beyond with my transfer to Bodh Gaya yesterday. Amazing.
