Easily my favourite place to stay in the Lakes!

Brilliant, cosy inn with restaurant, and great rooms and Teapigs in the rooms… beats a cheap coffee sachet. The staff were really friendly, and my daughter and I loved our stay for two days climbing in the Lakes. The breakfasts are superb too.

Perfect location in a stunning part of the Lake District. Perfect base for numerous hikes in the area. Room very comfortable and clean. Food very good, but service was a little erratic. Staff very helpful and welcoming.

Great location, right at the bottom of the Dungeon Ghyll. Staff were really nice, and worked hard to make everyone happy. Whole place looking tired and dated now (or oddly modernised), in need of sympathetic renovation back to a classic Lakeland hotel style.

Really lovely hotel - staff couldn’t do enough for you. Food was slightly dry as bland however the dessert was amazing! but had a lovely stay!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our visit, which was unexpectedly extended at short notice due to heavy snow and impassable roads. Very relaxed stay and a big thank you to all the staff who made us feel welcome and at home.

Cannot wait to go back.

The property was slightly off the main roads which to me was perfect, you have some amazing countryside and scenery to admire and explore. The hotel was lovely and all the staff were friendly. The food was really nice, and the room was nice and clean and comfy, i stayed for business but will definitely be back for personal to explore more.
