「To start with practicalities - this apartment is on the edge of the pedestrian zone of the old city. Which makes it ideal for exploring and everything is within walking distance. Walking around the old city is one of the best activities. Also useful for taxi pickup/dropoff. The apartment is spacious and we found the wraparound balcony to be one of the best features. I do not think it is possible to find less than excellent food whether at highly reviewed restaurants or from small grocery stores...

「The apartment hotel is a new building in a suburban residential area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. There is ample street parking so it is a good location for those renting vehicles to explore Crete. We visited Knossos and Matala Beach but did not have time to visit the Old Town of Heraklion.
