“Honestly a beautiful resort, but pool floors definitely need deep cleaning and FUMIGATION of rooms and resort should be a priority as it’s infested with mosquitos and rooms/beds have non stop bugs/pests falling from ceiling. Staff were super courteous and location was extremely convenient. Would be a perfect resort if management considers fumigations.”

“The best hotel in Bacalar. i have been coming to Akalki for over 14 years and never disappoints. Take note that the bungalow rooms on the water ( 1-4) do have air conditioning - the website ( expedia listing ) is not clear about that. Make sure to take a tour to go visit the temple and take Akalki boat tour on the water with your captain Yan. Every morning there is a holistic experience of either sound healing, yoga , meditation - endulge in these experiences as well. The spa is also incredible……

“This place is amazing! Excellent costumer service. The restaurant has a good variety of food. Definerly you need a car to go there. If you dont rent a car or have a car you should avoid it. Service taxi is around 20 dollars from downtown to the hotel and 20 dollars to go from the hotel to downtown. If you want to disconnect and stay the whole time at the hotel then you will enjoy they have the necessary there.”
