Sorry Red Lion It’s not as clean as you’d like to think - see pics , chair leg is broken so could only sit on bed But Bed linen fresh, towels pure white, room smells fresh (apart from people smoking in pub garden, but that’s not your fault) Slept ok but room could do with makeover, update and consider how to use the space more efficiently

Would stay here again.

We were made very welcome! The room was clean and comfortable - brilliant shower! Basic breakfast provided but it was all we needed. Bar times and fire escapes explained. Staff were very helpful when I realised we`d left something behind after checking out. Very cosy bar.

Lovely little room

The stay was brilliant. Good location, and perfect little room. Plenty of goodies left out for us - hot chocolate sachets, biscuits, and even porridge pots for the morning. Lovely staff/service

Room and food were fine but radiator in the bedroom could not be switched off so it was too hot all night. No-one could advise how to fix it. There was no overnight parking within 500 meters of the hotel. This apparently is normal in Bakewell. There was also no wifi internet access in the room or the bar area. Not good!

The Red Lion is ideally situated in Bakewell,although there is no parking at the accommodation,there is plenty nearby. The only negative comment id make about the accommodation is the double bed is very small,other than that the rooms are very clean etc The town is very quiet,and there's not a lot happening on an evening

Room need some attention

Room 3 very tired, bed uncomfortable. Bathroom very cramped and needs updating. Water system very noisy. Staff very friendly.

Nice traditional pub

Well placed in centre of Bakewell. Friendly staff. Nice large double bedroom with en suite. As they don't serve breakfast there were a couple of complimentary porridge pots and breakfast biscuits. Tea and coffee making facilities with plenty of t-bags, milk, coffee and hot chocolate sachets with packets of biscuits. Hallway outside room decoration was looking a bit tired. Had a very nice evening meal in the pub

Lovely area disappointing hotel.

Hotel Red Lion locked at 10.00pm had to access room via steep concrete & metal steps. To a key pad door which didn’t always open first time. Absolutely no sort of breakfast served early morning. No facilities for checking out had to take all luggage down steep concrete steps & leave key in door as front door was locked. Other B&Bs usually make bed each day, this wasn’t done. No parking near hotel. Tried to find overnight car park but none near by. Was informed you could book parking on line unable to do it. Beautiful area lovely walks & river. Close to other Beauty spots. Chatsworth house well worth a visit. Also Eyam & Matlock.

Thornbridge and Chatsworth visit at Bakewell

Staff were lovely. Location in the town centre, very convenient. Beautiful town. Surprising quiet in the hotel.
