「The Blue star House Hotel is on a 1way street, which is very quiet and peacefull. Very close to lots of restaurants and bistro bars. Close to a couple of shops, and very nice area on the edge of old southsea area.」

The food is excellent and I should mention the whisky to add to/with the morning porridge! The grounds are fabulous and extend down to the beach and the Spa a delight. Only issue was that when we looked up and booked our establishment and room choice, on Expedia’s website, we were offer a buffet Dinner and breakfast on the checkout day. So when we arrived and checked in at reception, we were informed that they do not provide and sort of dinner at all at there establishment. So spent 30 minutes on your virtual chat line talking to an agent, asking why we were mis-sold this half board...

「Very small room but comfy needed facilities to be able to sit and eat if wanted but no room to do so. Facilities very limited. Breakfast was amazing though and nice en-suite. Fabulous location too.」

「The hotel is a striking and unusual building, very handsome, though we would have appreciated better signs - the rooms in the 400s, which had to be accessed through the library, were difficult to find when first arriving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the location of the hotel, near the seafront sights (the Mary Rose museum, Nelson's flagship Victory, etc) and the ferry ports. Everything clean and well maintained.」

「Particularly if you're travelling with young kids, make sure if you book a pet-free stay you get pet-free accommodation. Dog hair everywhere in the caravan we stayed in with our 2 & 4 year old, which wasn't ideal, despite having booked pet-free. Caravan was lovely aside from that. 」
