"One of the worst hotel rooms I've EVER had in my life. Right next to a STAFF elevator that goes all day and all night. An air conditioner that would not stop at night and froze the room. When we turned the heat on in the morning, it ran for a minute or two and then kicked over to air conditioning again no matter what we did. I feel you guys should have paid us to stay in that room! SHAMEFUL. It was absolutely horrible. When we left and turned off the light on the right side of the bed spun where it was attached and nearly broke my finger. I see that you are already checked out. Could I sign you up for IHG rewards and deposit points towards a future stay as an apology? - Jaz, Front Desk Supervisor Hi Jaz, I appreciate you reaching out, but I’ll be honest: the offer of points feels less like an apology and more like a way to avoid acknowledging that the room provided was functionally uninhabitable. My primary reason for responding to your text was to ensure management knows that specific room is not fit for guests—it’s not restful and it shouldn't be in your rotation until the elevator noise and climate control are fixed."

"Racism abounds!! The front desk staff were only too eager to place my husband and I in inferior rooms when we arrived. I had to aggressively self advocate as a woman of colour (and the one paying the tab!) for a room on the top floor! The hotel decor is nice but dated… lots of dark browns and beiges…. The cafe front staff was disrespectful and condescending. We waited more than five minutes to be acknowledged. They whispered to each other for a couple minutes then without even a “good day” one of them said “come with me”. The entire town was like this… I was happy when we were across the border and back in Canada!"

"Great hotel in a fun Detroit neighborhood, close to everything. Definitely low-key boujie. Downsides: no off-street parking available, had to use the valet service which was a bit slow. King-city view room was nice, but rather small. Roof top lounge was inviting and posh, service was slow. I'd stay again."

"Everything was clean, the staff was incredibly friendly , and knowledgeable. I loved the history of the building. The food from the golfing / blowing area in the hotel was not great. but the service was. "

"Well don’t expect your deposit back in a timely fashion, don’t call down to front desk for anything unless you want to get belittled! Called to ask about Uber Eats delivery and was treated like I was the dumbest person on the earth. "
