Our stay at the charming one-bedroom cottage on Anchorage Lane was nothing short of magical. Nestled beside a stately family home, the guest cottage felt like our own private haven — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and filled with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home.I was in nearby Salem conducting doctoral research during October, and the location could not have been more ideal — an easy and affordable Uber or taxi ride away each day, allowing us to leave our car at the property and return each evening to this serene coastal refuge.My mom, who was recovering from heart surgery, found her time by the ocean deeply restorative. The sound of the waves, the fresh sea air, and especially the hot tub provided such healing relaxation. Evenings were often spent curled up by the fireplace, sharing stories and enjoying the tranquil glow — truly the perfect place to unwind.The kitchen amenities were excellent, making it easy to prepare meals at home, and the local grocery shops offered everything we needed and more. The property does include several stairs, so it may be challenging for guests with mobility issues — but for us, it was absolutely perfect in every way.We left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and full of gratitude for such a wonderful stay. This little cottage by the sea is a true Marblehead gem — we can’t wait to return!
