Silver Spring Brookside Nature Center Hotels

"The hotel is OK, exactly you may expect from 3-stars hotel. My negative experience related to hotel’s personnel, specifically, at the front desk and their staff responsible for payment process. I booked the hotel via Expedia and paid in full my room at day of booking. However, in the middle of my stay (in 10 days from the beginning) the hotel charged my credit card on the file for two times (two days in different amounts). It happened about a week before an end of my stay. When I figured out this, I contacted to hotel’s representative, who said that they have not received a confirmation of payment from Expedia. So, according to this info Expedia is guilty. I contacted to Expedia’s representative and he provide me with all details of process (timeline and events), specifically that the hotel charged my credit card at the very first day of my stay. As it follows from Expedia evidence, hotel’s representative statement was false. Definitely, two hotel’s charges on my credit card have been released, but my feeling about this situation did not change – poor service"

"Room was clean and recently renovated. Staff was helpful. Coffee in lobby was great. Only thing I didn’t love was the fact that the $20 parking was sold out. The parking lot itself was tiny so it just affect the majority of the guests. The front desk was nice enough to point out that there is a parking garage next door or metered street parking. Parking garage is free from 10PM to 7AM which was convenient since we were only staying 1 night. Not sure about the cost otherwise."

"Di not let them place you in a room on the entry level. You hear noise from the lobby, and they are located one floor down from a commercial gym. I could hear people running on a treadmill and the staff was aware of that issue when they placed me in the room. The lobby is almost always noisy, and if people are smoking near garage you can smell that too. I stay here only for convenience when visiting my kids who live nearby but if there were another Marriott where I could use rewards I’d go there. Also, the furniture needs to be replaced. Drawers won’t stay shut. Bathrooms are not always stocked fully. Staff is not particularly helpful and often seem overwhelmed."

"Conveniently located, clean and modern, spacious lobby & a Starbucks on premises. And warm cookies at check-in! What more could you want!"

"Tjhe switch on one of the lamps was loose and the lamp wouldn't stay lit. I reported this to the front desk on the day I arrived, but it wasn't replaced or fixed. I was disappointed that the Keurig cups weren't renewed the second day of my stay, though the bathroom was cleaned."
