"I adore The Congress Plaza Hotel. The property is a historical monumental hotel in a prime location, making it easily walkable to enjoy all of the sightseeing Chicago has to offer. In which, there is plenty. The staff friendly, highly effective, and make you feel seen and heard as a guest. Specifically, Steve, the bellman. He knows who is entering and leaving the building. Which always makes me feel safe a solo traveler. Additionally, he offers great insight in regard, to the "whats happening" around the city. The restaraunts and bar staff are equally as great. You are bound to make a pal, while engahing in great conversation with other tourist and locals. Ruiz the hotel manger is super attentive. She goes beyond great measure to ensure that your needs are meet. It's always a great pleasure staying here. In fact, I never want to leave. The view of the sunrise and sunset over looking lake Michigan wpuld make any guest want to stay a little bit longer.Thank you to all of the staff for making every visit pleasurable. "

"My wife and I agreed that this was the nicest room we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in a lot of nice rooms. Do not even hesitate to stay here and please do yourself a favor and splurge on a State Suite like we did. Maybe we got lucky with the room we ended up in, but we LOVED staring at the river and cityscape among the Chicago skyscrapers for a week -- and I can't even begin to describe the luxury level on the bathroom and supersize tub. Stay here. Do it. You deserve it."

"Toilet paper holder broken, water bottles in room cost money, room was facing brick wall when I paid for city view. Staff was unwilling to help. I hate the feeling of being nickel and dimed, and I felt that way here. Rooftop bar was partially closed and dead (bar outside was closed) "

"Staff was welcoming and efficient. The hotel location was excellent. Valet parking is offered, which I would recommend, since everything you need is in walking diatance. The room was comfortable, but our view was terrible overlooking air conditioners and rusted water tanks to other buildings. "
