“Our room was very clean and nice. We enjoyed listening to the birds and having a cup of coffee on our deck before going for breakfast. We were unable to walk to brkfst or dinner at Jaguar because my husband was experiencing severe back and leg pain. There are so many activities to enjoy there! Jarvis kindly picked us up each morning and returned us to our cabin. He was wonderful. Everyone was so nice. Victor always made us feel special and always had a smile on his face. “Room and garden area very clean. Just the decor is stuck in the 80’s. Rooms need upgrading. Breakfast could use more variety with hot foods. Pool area stuck in the 80’s. Only limited pool loungers so need to get more. Walking paths need repairs. I wouldn’t wear high heels there. But very clean, quiet and nice to have a patio for each room. I will stay there again as great location to walk downtown. Once we parked the car didn’t drive it u til we left. ”

The grounds are clean, workers are friendly and very helpful, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the hot springs and loved venturing to a couple of the Waterfalls. We did an all day adventure tour and had an amazing time tubing down the river, followed by ziplining through the canyon. “I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning.
