Accueil mitigé par la gérante :nous avions réservé et payé d’avance 2 chambres pour 3 nuits,or elle n’a plus de place pour la 3ème nuit! Elle propose une nuit dans un autre hôtel de standing inférieur,après négociations de plus d’une heure (quelle perte de temps!!) elle trouve un meilleur hôtel et offre une expédition. Sinon l’hôtel est un lieu splendide avec patio, terrasse avec vue sur Cartagena ,chambres ultra confortables, le quartier est très agréable

Beautiful hostel about a 10 minute walk away from the center of the old fortified walled city of Cartagena. This place has a nice ambiance with really friendly staff that treat you really nice. Some people might think of the area as a little scummy, but I did not have any problems and even walking home at 1am, I had some locals shout at me "welcome to Cartagena" I thought this was nice. I would recommend this hostel.

To Be Avoided

To be avoided. This hostel has the potential to be a gem, but it would need another staff and management. We have been robbed while we had left our belongings in a "safe place" provided by the hostel. What we listed as "valuables" were not touched, but our bags were 'visited', zippers broken, and contents moved around. Furthermore, we were given another room than the one we booked, close to the breakfast area, extremely noisy. Finally, on one occasion our door was left unlocked and open by the cleaning staff. To be avoided or at your own risks... We'll never go back.

Room smelled like urine and poor construction of building. Could hear every step upstairs and even them flushing the toilet and showering. Ceiling was dropping wood particles on the bed and they did nothing about it.

Optisch toll

Da das Hotel trotz dieser Expedia-Reservierung kein Zimmer geben konnte, sassen wir bis spät am Abend im Regen auf den Strassen von Cartagena. Die Reservierung lag zwar in ausgedruckter Form vor und man wusste auch, dass wir kommen, nur Zimmer waren nicht mehr verfügbar. Es hat uns einen gesamten Urlaubstag gekostet bis wir die 2 reservierten Nächte in einem anderen Hotel verbringen konnten. Ich wüsste gerne wer dies zu verschulden hat: Expedia oder Fruends to be?? Das Hotel verwies ganz klar an Expedia....Ich bitte um Rückinfo. Vielen Dank Sebastian Heller

My mom and I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel itself was beautiful and In a great location. Walking distance to the old city and castle. Our room was clean and really nice. However the hotel staff were not the friendliest. They gave us anything we needed a towel, toilet paper, wifi password, etc., but they weren't friendly. We didn't even get a hello when we walked in.

El hotel tiene un diseño agradable con mucha luz

El hotel es agradable, se encuentra bien ubicado respecto a los puntos turísticos de interés como el Castillo de San Felipe y centro de ciudad amurallada. La habitación es amplia y cómoda, sin embargo sus instalaciones requieren mantenimiento. Sobre la cama en la dormíamos amanecíamos llenos de residuos de madera a causa del comején a modo de ejemplo, para que saliera agua por la ducha (no así por el inodoro ni el lavamanos) se requería informar al personal del hotel para que hicieran algo y así ya poder bañarnos. Las instalaciones del hotel son agradables y corresponde a la imágenes que se ofertan en publicaciones.

Buscaría otra opción la próxima vez.

Esperaba más del hotel, primero la atención es regular por parte del personal. Con 3 noches de estadía solo un día hicieron limpieza en el cuarto. Reservamos una hab doble, nos dieron la no 6 en el primer piso. Lamentablemente quedaba junto a la zona de bar, por lo cual manejaban la música un poco alto para mi gusto, lo cual me impedía descansar en la tarde. Para una persona fiestera no significaba un problema, pero mi esposa y yo somos más de descansar..si este es su caso pues mejor busque otro lugar. El hotel es rústico, y se entiende se busca ese tipo de acabados, sin embargo en la ducha el piso es de concreto y se ve sucio, fue pintado pero actualmente tiene un color amarillento un poco desagradable. Bien ubicado, piscina como para niños nada más...buscaría otra opción la próxima vez.

nice hostel with pool at great location

nice hostel in getsemani with dorms and double rooms shower is really nice, clean, pool, breakfast (not included), nice and helpful staff, laundry service and 24h reception, good place on a quite street but still in the middle of everything (old town, bars, restaurants, castle etc)

Nice hostel but not very comfortable

Hostel courtyard looks great but actually the pool is very small, only really big enough to cool off in not to swim in. The rooms are decorated well and look stylish but unfortunately we had to move from our first ground floor room because something was falling down from the ceiling and leaving dust / dirt all over the bed. In our second room we had a lizard for company.. Location is good but it was very quiet, likely because we went in shoulder season but if you want a party / sociable hostel I would probably suggest elsewhere..

Disappointed

Unfortunately the doors into the room where not secure. Also the vents in the doors allowed mozzies into the room. We got savaged with bites that night. No water in the shower the day we stayed. Sink looked really grubby but that may have been the desired look. The room was huge. Air con worked well. The communal spaces outside seemed lovely and well maintained. Great location. However, Checked out early as didn't want to be covered in mozzie bites.

A noisy hotel in a nice colonial house

I had a very nice stay in this same house about four years ago, when it had a different name, and that's why I came back. The hotel is not very expensive (but not cheap), the house is beautiful and the neighbourhood has character. This time they gave me the room on the back, first floor in front of the patio and it was not pleasant at all. The room has no windows and your can hear all the music from the patio, then the TV and at 2 am people coming from a party who stayed for about two hours in the patio making too much noise. So if you want to go partying and arrive to the hotel at about 2 am, it might be fine. In my case, I was tired coming from the film festival at 9 pm and was not able to have a good night rest.

Neues Hotel in Zentrumsnähe

Das Hotel hat erst drei Tage vor unserer Ankunft eröffnet und dementsprechend neu war die komplette Einrichtung! Es war noch nicht alles 100% fertiggestellt, aber das hat in keiner Weise gestört. Das Personal war äusserst freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Ojo con las reservas, chequear. Excelente lugar

Cuando llegué me dijeron que la reserva no estaba efectuada, que no trabajaban con Hoteles.com, y aunque les mostré la reservación en mi celular, negaban que existiera, yo había reservado hacía un mes. Luego de media hora, como tenían disponibilidad me ubicaron, pasé un muy mal momento luego de llegar todo el día viajando, 3 aviones, siendo de noche que me digan semejante cosa. Eso fue lo único opaco de la experiencia. El hostel tiene un diseño de lujo, es hermoso, y muy cálido, la atención es muy buena. Ojo NO TIENE COCINA, venden cositas para picar. Desayuno pobre.

Awesome HOSTEL in central part of Getsemani

I loved this hostel. I was so surprised with how cheap it was for the location and amenities. There is a beautiful courtyard with a bar that also serves some food. Many guests were lounging in the courtyard, so it was easy to make friends. There is a beautiful rooftop patio that overlooks the city. The staff was GREAT! I highly recommend this place. Of course it is a hostel, so dormitory style bunk beds and all that. Great for young people on a budget.
