It was a beautiful place! My room was perfect and the views were amazing. However, I was unaware how loud the area could be. There’s a field behind the hotel where a concert of some sort took place one of the nights I was there. Other than all the noise, the place was fantastic

Great Hotel

This is a beautiful hotel. There is air condition. The service was amazing from the staff. They provide a shuttle but one day out of our four days it was not available. Within walking distance to a plaza with food and shopping. The free breakfast was very tasty and you get a variety of items to choose from.

The thing I liked the most about this hotel was the peace and quiet we found and the absolutely amazing view of the volcano in front of us. Also the place is filled with gardens and open green areas. You are going to feel like you are sleeping in an authentic colonial building.

Beautiful place located approximately 12 minutes outside of city center for Antigua. The rooms do have air conditioning which was a plus. The villa was a tad bit noisy with fireworks for an event a few days I was there. Also, there is 2 locations for this hotel so since breakfast is served in the other area, this will provide you a shuttle to go every day which was a plus! Staff was really lovely and property was beautiful!

Staff was awesome but it was noisy from traffic RIGHT outside our room and there was inconsistent hot water. It is a beautiful space but bring earplugs and be prepared to take tepid showers. Also there is no free breakfast for the price and there should be… even coffee and a muffin would be nice. Javier the concierge made our stay otherwise wonderful! His service and attentiveness was stellar!

Lovely hotel and great service, really great food, wonderful breakfast included with a great view of the Agua Volcano. Comfortable beds. The location didn’t work for us though. It wasn’t terrible to have to get an uber into the central district each day - though it was inconvenient. Although they do have a sister location in the center you could stash your bags there if you need to while you walk around. What we really disliked about the location was the major road literally right outside our window. Both the noise and the smell were constant. They DO have rooms that don’t face the road — so if you are ok with being in the Ciudad Viejo neighborhood, ask for one of those rooms. They’re very responsive on WhatsApp. I wish I had asked. I recommend this place with that one caveat.

What I Loved: - Stunning Views: The hotel offers breathtaking views of the surrounding volcanoes, which made for a picturesque and serene setting. - Beautifully Maintained Grounds: The landscape is impeccably groomed, adding to the overall charm and tranquility of the place. Cleanliness: The hotel is very clean, which made my stay comfortable and pleasant. - Comfortable Bed and Bedding: The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bedding was of high quality, ensuring a good night's sleep. Polite and Attentive Staff: The hotel employees were very polite and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my stay. Areas for Improvement: - Limited Food Options: The food options were quite limited, which was a bit disappointing given the otherwise high standards of the hotel. - Shower Handle Issues: The shower handle temperature was backwards and positioned opposite from the shower entrance, which was inconvenient and confusing. - Weak Coffee: Despite Guatemala being known for its great coffee, the hotel served the weakest coffee I've ever had, which was a letdown. Overall, Hotel Mestizo Cortijo is a wonderful place to stay with some room for improvement. The stunning views, well-maintained landscape, and excellent service make it a great choice, but addressing the food options, shower handle, and coffee quality would enhance the experience even further.

Beautiful 200 year refurnished catholic convent. Used to be a Spanish style Cortijo “Farm Palace”, Majestic views of sourounding volcanos, exquisite open grounds. Best hosting ever! Received communication and stay planning 5 days before coming. I arrived early and this was no issue. Peaceful and quiet. Not intended for clients searching for amenities. For the time being , the restaurant is located in neiboring “La Antigua” town center. But transportation is provided and efficient, which also serves as an efficient way to come and go to neinoring “La Antigua” and stay away from the hustle of city center. Restaurant should be rated 5 stars since it offers absolutely exquisite menu holding local ingredients and surprisingly good cuisine. I can’t be more impressed with what Could be referred as authentic Guatemalan experience along with excellent dinning. Highly recommended for couples with romantic interest. Or just for relaxation. And bring your cameras, you will be needing it.

This place is so beautiful and quiet. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The court yard is such an amazing amenities where we laid in the grass and watched the volcano erupt. I really enjoyed this place just wish the water was hotter in the shower. Also server Leslie was great!!

Our stay was great. The staff were very accommodating and gave great service throughout the entire stay. If it was anything that needed to be addressed they addressed it immediately. Breakfast was cooked every morning to order and it was a real treat. Views are amazing and the location was great. Overall great experience.
