"We stayed with our 5 year old. The rooms were ok, some minor issues, our swim out pool’s jets were either broken or on so there were a lot of dead bugs accumulated, and some issues with fridge and closet doors not opening. It was still nice, housekeeping every morning and night, and we got family concierge which was the best. Our Concierge was so kind, and surprised our daughter with a fun game, and candy and balloons daily- she LOVED IT. The staff were so kind and friendly, I can’t say enough about the quality of staff! Also, every night there was a show for kids, that was genuinely entertaining for us as well. My daughter especially enjoyed the circus show. The food was fair- the Mexican food was great. Sadly there was still sargassum in the ocean (all around Cancun) so we couldn’t swim in the ocean, but the hotel did its best to clean as much as possible. There were lots of events for kids, a cool kids club, and an amazing Aqua Zone, with tons of water slides, the kiddo loved it! Overall it was a nice stay, I would recommend. The only issue we had was the first night where we were unprepared for the mosquitos. Mind you, this is the end of rainy season, so good to be aware of. At night the mosquitos were aggressive. There are two restaurants on the side near the mangrove in the family concierge area, while they were delicious, the mosquitoes got us pretty good, through my shirt. Lots of bug spray helped. I do recommend for couples or for families with young kids!"

"Overall, we had an enjoyable stay. It doesn't compare to past stays at places like the Riu, but for the price and service, we had no major complaints. Pros: -Active effort made to keep rooms and the resort clean. The beach was clean with barely any sargassum. -Buffet was standard resort fare (decent, no surprises). The Italian restaurant—the only reservation option we tried out of Japanese and Mexican—was amazing, with fine-dining quality. Drinks weren't watered down (we often asked for doubles). -The pool taco stand (open till 2 AM) was key for late-night cravings; we were there almost every night. -Very close to 5th Ave for shops/restaurants. Friendly, hospitable staff and smooth check-in/out. Cons: -Pool Closure: Half the main pool and swim-up bar were closed until our last day. Advance notice would be nice, especially as recent reviews note this happens often. -First Room: Main floor near the lobby was loud (bar, entrance, karaoke/shows) with a noticeable pipe smell. Moving to the 3rd floor near the beach fixed both immediately. -Timeshare Pitches: Initial pitches for the presentation were aggressive, including notes on our door, but they stopped after 3–4 refusals. -Bed Preference: Requested a king bed, but only 2 double beds were available (which was fine, but a king was preferred). The pillows were also unreasonably firm, it was like sleeping on a rock."
