“Breakfast was good, dinner was better. No other dining options nearby on a Sunday and otherwise limited options in Craignure”

“Wonderful hosts whom made us a late request dinner. Rooms were clean and neat and everything was well decorated and functioning. A very nice breakfast as well. A minute to the ferry to Isle of Mull giving plenty of time for a day exploring Duart castle and Tobermorey. Highly recommend!”

“The room and facilities are old looking and small. Especially for the bathroom. But the beds are clean and tidy and provide car parking. ”

“The hotel and our room was visually well decorated and quirky. Our room was unreasonably hot without the heater even being on. The temperature outside being approximately 13o. We could not open our window as some sort of generator was right outside. Noisey and possibly the source of the heat in our room?? The breakfast was again visually gorgeous and the breakfast selections ample.”

“An absolute gem of a property - from rooms, bar, dining room and staff. Wonderful breakfasts prepared each morning. Do yourself a favour and book yourself a dinner there as well. Chef is very talented! The views of boats in the bay and the shoreline of Oban are spectacular from this property. Highly recommend.”

“No lift or mini fridge. It would be difficult for someone in poor physical condition to make it up the spiral staircase to the rooms. They were fine for us - even after a couple whiskeys! The room was very cute and clean. It was obvious upgrades had been made to the plumbing. Not perfect but very nice and we really enjoyed the restaurant/bar downstairs. Great entertainment and knowledge of whiskey. The only bar we went into that had Scottish music!”

“Our seaview room was lovely. Everything really clean, decor very nice. Bed was comfy, great shower. Breakfast tasty. Only one gripe...we weren't told by either Expedia or the hotel that our booking included access to the Spa, so we didn't take anything suitable to wear for the sauna/steam room, so we were a bit disappointed with that, but everthing else was great, would definitely stay here again.”

“Both elevators were out at one point, the staff couldn’t check me in even minutes earlier than the 3pm guideline,and the whole ‘meal thing’ felt weird about inclusions or exclusions. Pay to park (but only 10 pounds) for two nights - but still…great location for rail or ferry, but the staff couldn’t check use an upgrade. PS. Why are the damn hallways so narrow to your room? I could barely get by a maids cart…seems like the fire regulations would be wider. Narrowest I have ever seen in any hotel.……

“I very much appreciated the personal welcome, not just receiving access codes via a text. Janet, the manager, was very welcoming and exceptionally friendly. The room and the house were clean and had a warm flowery scent. I was lucky to have been given a room with a direct view to the sea. This made it even more pleasurable to sit in the armchair and drink my morning coffee and night drink. Should I visit Oban again, I would definitely try to get a room at the Hamilton Guesthouse again. Thank……
