「The Shady Lawn Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It's in the heart of Newland, NC, a small town with a cool vibe. Shady Lawn Inn was my home for 10 days because of car trouble. Staff Kara (front desk), Maria (housekeeping) and Ms. Suzzanah (owner) were so gracious and helpful and I felt safe. Room was clean, a bit dark, comfortable bed (king) and the ac cools when needed. 「The only problem I encountered was that because I booked third party, they weren't flexible with my request to allow my cousin to check in on my behalf becauseI was running late and she needed to get dressed before the wedding. I had to stop, respond to the email request before she was allowed in the room. She drove over 3 hrs. and I drove over 5 hrs. and had lost 1 hrs. because I was coming from TN.」

It was not clean - The carpet was stained - the TV did not work - The shower head had no sprayer head in it, was like a garden hose, unusable - no Air conditioning and box fan provided did not work. electrical outlet in room loose in wall. dirty windows with broken screens that could not be opened.. every request for answers was met with a negative response from desk clerk . would not give me a receipt for checking out 2 days...
