I’ve rented through this site several times and have never had an experience like this. I booked the condo in early June and had a pending charge immediately, so I assumed everything was fine. On our nine hour drive to Florida, I realized I hadn’t received check in information. I contacted VRBO at 7 a.m. and was told I would receive it later since check in wasn’t until 4. By 11 a.m. I still had nothing, so I called and was told I hadn’t paid. Apparently my account had been “migrated” and my payment information was no longer visible. What bothered me most was that no one contacted me about the issue. I had to discover it myself while already traveling.Unfortunately, the condo was also disappointing. It looked much nicer in the listing photos and felt misrepresented once we arrived. The walls were scuffed, several tiles were broken, there was cracked and broken grout throughout, and there were no rugs, which made the condo feel cold and unfinished. The kitchen and household items seemed random and thrown together rather than thoughtfully stocked.Once I realized it was owned by a management company, it made more sense. It felt like a basic rental with very little attention to detail. I would not recommend this unit unless you literally just need somewhere to sleep, and even then, the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable.
