Bare Bones

Just finished up a 3 night stay here. Very bare bones with not a lot in the kitchen. Salt and pepper and that was about it. Only Two rolls of toilet paper and two rolls of paper towels. For the price the place should have provided a little more. It was clean and lots of dishwater and pots and pans.

Perfect home for our getaway!

This is a great location. The home is tucked away in a wooded neighborhood just on the outskirts of Edgartown. It was really clean. Heads up...if you plan to cook there, bring your own spices and cooking oils. The only thing there for cooking was salt and pepper. The house is dated but comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable. We could not get the electric heaters to work in the bedrooms and it was rather chilly while we were there ...maybe there was a main switch to turn on?? I would go back.

The location is really good, the kitchen has almost everything you’ve ever need, there’s air conditioning in every room, it’s quiet, and there’s plenty of space. They were only a few issues. The Wi-Fi was frustrating continuous thing that asked us to login but then more than that also kicking us off constantly it seems there to be a limit on how many devices could be connected. The toilet seats kept coming off, there were no dish towels, there was barely enough soap , Shampoo and conditioner. there was only one towel per person, there were only three beach towels, The dish soap is hard to find, we had to go buy coffee filters. Also there was no recycling which we couldn’t understand because the island is so big and recycling in there no instructions if there was. Also for those sensitive to light it’s very difficult to sleep there are no curtains just shades that barely do anything so very hard to get a restful sleep. I strongly suggest curtains. It’s a good property and was just a little bit of effort all these things could be easily fixed

Lovely and clean but intense musty smell!

We felt so lucky to find this place- it is a good location (we had friends close by) and it worked for our needs of home base/sleeping quarters for our family. It has everything you need for a lovely stay. There are 4 beach chairs and 1 umbrella, which is so helpful. The kitchen is simple and spacious, we didn't use it much but felt like we could easily have cooked in it and had everything needed. There's a grill too which is so nice to have. The place is circa 90's throughout; but clean! So clean! It's outdated but well maintained. There were a few things like a broken tile in the bathroom and some rough for wear side tables that could use some attention but overall, for the price, it works great. The shared spaces are really great and the beds comfy. The downfall of this place is that it smells super intensely of must. The smell permeates every item you bring into the house. After leaving we have to air out all of our belongings, wash every bit of clothing and ensure that our suitcases and outerwear is deep cleaned before storing for our next trip. The smell made it tough to stay long in the house and irritated us while trying to go to sleep (luckily there were fans, air purifiers and windows/upstairs sliding glass door with screen to use when we were in the house- this helped). The bottom line is that if this house was more up to date it would be even more overpriced, so sometimes you have to give and take with certain things (but not smells- those are a tough one).

A nice property. Upgrades are needed, but decent.

Renting the property was fine. Better directions on using appliances. Information about local eateries would be helpful. I would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay in Katama. The home was clean and well appointed. It was a quick bike ride away from south beach as well as Edgartown center. Will surely rent again if we come back to the island.

Clean, spacious, good location!

Enjoyed our stay. House is modern, very clean with lots of room. Nice to have beach chairs (4 available). Minutes away from downtown Edgartown. Tip: Coffee machine is a Keurig so bring your own K-Cups! Note: The listing shows what to do with the bed sheets in two different places, but are conflicting.

Basic but roomy, clean and outdoor areas very nice

First impressions good, but a little pricy for ambience and pared down furnishings. Rug missing from main living area. Maybe owners have had trouble in the past with guests stealing things? Towels were thin and scratchy like low-end motel towels. Would recommend bringing your own towels.

Would I stay again...Yes!

The property was very nice, however, a little more attention could be given to the cleaning and clothes dryer maintenance. The dryer was stuffed with lint and the floors are not being thoroughly cleaned. Security is an issue also. We found that the basement/cellar was not secured from the outside or inside. The property is away from everything and a vehicle is needed. Other than these things, it was quite nice and I would stay there again. The owner was accessible and really worked with us.

Great vacation home!

This is a very comfortable vacation home, lovingly maintained by the owners. It's in a quiet location near Great Pond, and convenient to everything. Home has a nice, open layout; kitchen is well stocked with everything needed for cooking. The owners are lovely, and nearby, so if you need anything, they can be there within minutes. But nothing was needed, as they've thought of everything! Thank you!

Charming spot!

This home was a great place to stay to enjoy the quiet charm of the island. The outdoor space accommodated our badminton and croquet games. The independently controlled air conditioning wall units kept us all very comfortable and the screened in porch was a perfect spot for board games and enjoying the evening breezes. The house is on a quiet street and a short ride to beaches and restaurants.
