We had a wonderful stay. The area around the hotel couldn’t be more convenient, when you walk outside you’re right by so many beautiful sights like the Princes Street gardens & Ross fountain, Scott monument, as well as the National Galleries and Calton Hill. There’s tons of shopping on Princes St and the surrounding area, as well as restaurants and cafes, and a few grocery stores. The tram is only a few minutes walk if needed - it was super convenient to take the tram to and from the airport since it was so close, and Edinburgh Waverly is right by the hotel which is convenient for anyone vacationing and travelling via train. Everything else is only a short walk away, and it’s a walk you’ll enjoy since the sights are so beautiful. Even with being so close to so many things, it was quiet inside at night time and we got a great sleep. The only downside for us was not having a minifridge in the room, would love if that was added! We got amazing service from the employees while we were there who also arranged an early check in for us which we really appreciated.

Right across from the train station so it was incredibly convenient. Within a reasonable walk to Edinburgh Castle and some main shopping streets. The rooms were average, and the hotel was under renovation.

Due to a delayed flight, arriving late and so exhausted, also having to catch another flight the next morning, it was nice and clean and quiet to get some sleep. Great Motel!

While it’s evident that certain improvements have recently been made to the common areas overall feel is still unwelcoming. Rooms are acceptable. It toom 3 rooms before they put us in a room with everything in working order. There is no air conditioning in the hotel, only "air circulation" that does absolutely nothing. The rooms were very warm and no way to cool them off. We were told it was due to a "heat wave", but it was only like 58 degrees fahrenheit. We had a corner room, and it is a very noisy corner with street traffic, sirens, and drunks singing at 3am.

I only stayed one night for close proximity to Waverley for an early train the next morning. My room was facing an internal courtyard which was very quiet and perfect for sleep. The room and bathroom were both much larger than I expected after reading the reviews. Very conveniently located.
