It is in a residential area :10 minutes walk from bus terminal and about 15 minutes to the city center. Ask for a taxi transfer if you have heavy luggage or wheeled luggage. The cottage house is among the most beautiful, we have stayed in, with tasteful collections, overlooking a garden with lupines and a far view of lake argentina. Hosts, living close by, are very responsive, helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed our stay and hope to have spent substantial more time .

The cabin is pristine, tastefully decorated with interesting things from the owners world travels and the grounds are a little oasis. The owners are my nomination for international hosts of the year. Friendly and helpful.

A perfect stay, we couldn’t ask for more!

We had a fantastic stay at Cabanas Alechen. The property was clean, comfortable, well equipped and a lot more spacious than the listing photos. It felt very homely and we loved the cabin we were in. Alejandro and Eduardo were great hosts and nothing was too much. We also enjoyed the breakfast provided with homemade cakes and breads. We wished we stayed longer and look forward to coming back one day!

If you are staying in El Calafate, do yourself a favor and stay at Cabanas Alechen. The hosts are great humans and made the stay so comfortable and pleasant for me. I could go on and on about why you should stay here. 10 out of 10!

The property is unique and not a stale, sterile hotel room. Everything was perfectly suited for my stay and the hosts were wonderful! It is a little bit off the beaten path but everything is within walking distance and the major tour companies are familiar with the property for easy pickup and dropoff. I'd definitely stay again!

We felt the most welcome we have in all our travels through Argentina. I wish we would have stayed longer. We were comfortable and the cabin was so charming. The fresh baked bread and breakfast spread were so welcome. Our hosts were excellent in all aspects. When we return to El Calafate, we will stay at Cabañas Alechen.

Cabanas Alechen was just the perfect place to stay!! Alejandro and Eduardo were SO kind, they brought homemade bread and pastries for breakfast, they treated us like family. The Cabana had everything you need, excellent beds and pillows, all was perfect! If we come back this will be definitively our place to stay.

We had a fantastic time at Cabañas Alechen and Eduardo and Alejandro were the most considerate and welcoming hosts one can imagine. Unfortunately we could only stay one night in this wonderful cabin that invites its guests to relax and find peace and quiet no matter what you are planning to do in El Calafate. The city center and the bus station are close by and leave many options to travel or to spend time in the local shops and restaurants. The interior is designed with a love for detail and an eye for the regional specialities. Breakfast was superb and the facilities flawless in terms of cleanliness and arrangement. We were quite in a hurry when we arrived in El Calafate since we wanted to see the glacier Perito Moreno, which is one of the must-sees when around the area. Eduardo and Alejandro helped us out with the booking and were so supportive that we are still very much inspired by their sense of hospitality. We will surely be back.

Great stay in cosy place

the whole stay was great, and it started with surprise welcome (to get to know more details what is the surprise please come and visit Cabanas Alechen). Alejandro and Ricardo are very nice hosts, very helpful, providing useful advices. It is very cosy place in silent part of El Calafate. We really enjoy the whole stay! Absolutely wonderful hosts who could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The property, itself, is beautiful and well layed out. The kitchen and dining area is lovely and a great place to enjoy coffee and breakfast as well as to relax at the end of a day of exploring. This is a perfect place in every way and we highly recommend it! Thank you for everything!

Alejandro was so friendly and very accommodating! The cabin was adorable and had everything you could need. Breakfast was a delicious spread of toast and spreads and cakes. The location is great if you have a car - free parking and a super close drive (<5 min to the town), but also feels quiet and a bit separate from the activity of town, which is great for relaxing. We wish we could have stayed longer, but would definitely stay here again if we make it back to El Calafate.

Fantastic rustic "cabin like" experience but with all the amenities you need. Very spacious, it is like having a full house to yourself. The owners are amazing, can't say enough good things about them. Wish we had more time.

AMABILIDADE e SOSSEGO

A cabana fica uns minutos do Centro, para o qual o hóspede se desloca pagando menos de 200 pesos argentinos (uns 12 reais). Ela abriga um casal e tem mais duas camas de solteiro para filhos ou amigos, portanto uma família fica muito confortável ao se hospedar lá. O Eduardo e o Alejandro fazem o possível para tornar a estadia tao boa quanto possam proporcionar. Eles sempre perguntam o horário que queremos o café da manhã e, na hora exata, chegam com pães, leite, suco de laranja, cream cheese, manteiga, geleias, doce de leite (delicioso), as vezes trazem bolo, cereais, iogurte ou queijo e presunto, cada dia eles fazem variações.. O pó do café fica na cabana para que o hóspede faça o café na cafeteira que existe lá, a seu modo (fraco ou forte), e o tome quentinho. Eles deixam instruções de passeios e fizeram reservas para nós para visitar uma Estancia e almoçar em um restaurante que envia um transferência para buscar o hóspede. Foram dias SENSACIONAIS e boa parte dessas ótimas recordações se devem a esses incríveis anfitriões.

Hospedaje recomendado para disfrutar Calafate!

Las cabañas se encuentran en una localización muy conveniente si viajas con tu propio medio de transporte, el lugar es muy acogedor y el servicio de sus propietarios puntual y excelente, siempre atentos a cualquier necesidad de los huéspedes. Tuvimos viaje familiar de 5 personas y todos quedamos altamente satisfechos. Familia proveniente de Costa Rica.

Great cabana stay with friendly hosts

Alejandro and Eduardo are great hosts and really make you welcome. The cabana was very well laid out and has quirkey touches that we loved. Everything was perfect for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is a little out from the town centre but we could walk it in about 15 minutes and it was nice to be away from the touristy stuff. Great view of the lake and mountains. Breakfast was good and the guys do their best to cater to any diet issues. Cabana was absolutely spotless. Recommended for a couple or family especially if you have a car or want to experience something different to the resort or hotel stays.
