The balcony view is amazing.... Totally worth it the inner garden with lemon trees and a big cypress on the adjacent property the balcony has a roll up tent. Also a cute ginger cat!

Our room was quite big and comfortable, but that’s it. If you wanted AC you have to pay. Do you want to sit at the terrace? You have to pay. No hair dryer either. The people were great though

Nice hotel with nice staff.

A modest hotel a 15 minute walk to the heart of the city. There is some free parking in the street, if you aren't lucky to get one of these the paid parking is only from 8am to 8pm. So even then it's not so bad.

Good location

Pretty good location but the staff (except for the older Italian woman at the front desk) was grumpy and never smiled. The breakfast room was like funeral parlor-no one smiling. Weird.

Disappointing stay

I usually don’t like to give negative reviews since it seems its a family run hotel,-but place completely disappointed! 1st. morning, there was no hot water,-did get fixed following day. Breakfast another disappointment! Hardly anything to offer,-I think they had 10-15 slices of ham, about 10 wrapped cheese slices.-

Upon arrival there were no rooms available, overbooked. Staff mentioned that there is no internet access, hence, no Fax/ copy machine access. They aren’t aware when rooms are available or not. Shame on Expedia that allows these type of Hotels available to people. It’s a ripe off. Charged me for the room for all those days. Expedia states that’s their policy? Conchetta, front desk drove us to another Hotel, is that their policy too? Very Disappointed!! I will never ever use Expedia again nor look at this terrible Hotel! After traveling for many hours the least you want to hear is that there is no room for you after you made the reservation.

Worst customer service at hotel ever.

I don’t like to write a bad review but does greeting a guest with a hello or smile cost anything? It got worse - the man on reception didn’t believe me, my daughter, her passport or Google when i said she was 11 years old (12 and over pay city tax). He insulted and upset us by insisting that she was 12 years and that I should pay the city tax, pretending he didn’t understand english to add to the embarrassing situation . Well he definitely did understand because I asked him what time and where breakfast was and he replied in perfect english (another disappointment - he deliberately didn’t want to tell us when or where breakfast was). If he is a staff member I would not keep him and if he is the manager then good luck to the business because I would warn against staying here and would never stay again. Also they take the key from you when you leave to hang in reception and you can’t leave after 11pm . Controlling the key and times in and out is ridiculous. I didn’t feel comfortable to leave the hotel or to stay. Tips to the reception staff member: smile! You are representing your hotel and city, learn some maths, respect your guests.

Un fantastico hotel 2 stelle a Firenze: Villa iCastagno Siamo stati piacevolmente sorpresi dal nostro soggiorno all'Il Casteletto a Firenze. Questo hotel 2 stelle offre un servizio e un trattamento di alta qualità. Il personale è stato molto cordiale e disponibile, ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio. Le camere erano pulite e confortevoli, con tutto ciò che ci serviva. La colazione è stata un'esperienza deliziosa. La scelta era ampia e comprendeva molti prodotti tipici italiani, come cornetti e brioches freschi, marmellata e altri dolci. I cornetti e le brioches erano freschi e squisiti. La posizione dell'hotel è ideale, a pochi passi dal centro storico di Firenze. Il centro città è raggiungibile a piedi in circa 30 minuti e molte delle principali attrazioni turistiche sono facilmente raggiungibili a piedi. Per visitare luoghi più lontani, come il Piazzale Michelangelo, consigliamo di utilizzare l'autobus hop-on hop-off. Un aspetto molto apprezzato dell'hotel è la sua atmosfera accogliente e amante degli animali. L'Il Casteletto ha un gatto di nome Tommy, che è stato molto affettuoso e ci ha fatto compagnia durante il nostro soggiorno. Il personale è stato molto gentile con il nostro gatto e ci ha fatto sentire a casa.Abbiamo notato che alcune recensioni negative parlavano di problemi con il servizio, ma per noi non è stato così. Disappointed in this hotel, despite advertising they have multi lingual staff, free onsite parking and valet parking, they don’t have any of these. The rooms are clean and the terrace was nice to sit on but the whole place is generally fairly old and run down.

Unsafe dangerous despicable

Shocking absolutely not as advertised unsafe for solo travellers no lounge no bar as advertised. Staff rude, dirty do not speak . Refused a refund. Put on the phone to a random person who told me to Fox off!! Stay away!!! I would doubt any of the reviews are genuine. No point did I feel safe? This place needs to be removed from Hotels.com if you’re a single female travelling alone do not go anywhere near it.
