Chalet Rus is the second traditionally built log cabin to 10 Blaich, so now larger party s are welcome to book two cabins!

Situated above the Lochside 18 miles from Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the U.K. Ideally placed for touring the West Highlands, walking, climbing, ski-ing, horse riding, fishing, canal and loch cruises, and many more outdoor activities. Or, if you want to get away from it all simply chill out and relax in the comfort of the cabin and enjoy the abundant wildlife. Perfect for those romantic getaways! There is an open connected decking area round three sides of the cabin from which to enjoy relaxing evenings watching the sunsets.

Local attractions include Ben Nevis, Neptunes staircase (the start of the Caledonian Canal), Glenfinnan viaduct, Jacobite Steam Train (better known now as Hogwarts Express from the Harry Potter movies), Glen Coe with its stunning scenery and many famous Munro s, Loch Ness and Nevis Distillery. The road to the Isles is on the opposite side of Loch Eil and is a beautiful scenic route to Mallaig from where you can sail to Skye and the Western Isles. You will pass the renowned White Sands of Morar- one of the best beaches on the West Coast and well worth a visit. Ardnamurchan Peninsula is not to be missed with its abundant wildlife, crystal clear waters and outstanding beauty, terminating at the Lighthouse which is the most westerly point on the U.K. mainland.

ACCOMMODATION

The Cabin sleeps 6 people, comprising of one extra large double bedroom with French doors leading on to the decking with the addition of a discrete single bunk and sofa bed to convert to a family room. The second bedroom is a cosy double bedroom, both bedrooms have very large built in wardrobes to store your cases and clothing. Bathroom with bath, shower, WC, and basin, heated towel rail and electric shaving point. Well equipped modern kitchen with induction hob, fan assisted oven, sink, microwave, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. The kitchen leads through to the open plan dining area and comfortable lounge, which has TV/DVD with Free View channels (plus radio channels), music system including ipod dock, luxury leather suite and open views to the Loch at the front and surrounding hills and woodland from all the windows. Heating is provided by electric wall panels throughout but for those romantic chilly winter evenings there is a very efficient wood burning stove. The area surrounding the cabin is enclosed by fencing with parking area within. Free Wi-Fi is also included.

The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice! Our 4 person family LOVED our 3 night stay, and wished we could have stayed longer. Karl is a fabulous host, the very best. The kitchen is very well stocked, even having a large quantity of spices. The bathroom is small but comfortable, and the towels are large and soft. The wood burning stove is easy to use and creates a cozy space. We really appreciated the washing machine to use after our hikes in the area.

Un chalet exceptionnel, une vue magnifique sur le loch et les très beaux chênes tout autour du terrain. Nous avons passé d’excellentes et paisibles vacances grâce à Karl : son chalet est très bien équipé et très confortable. I only gave it 4/5 on accuracy of the listing, because it was even better than I expected from the description. Karl, a low key, but attentive host, welcomed us with quick instructions on how to use some of the appliances, etc. The furnishings, cookware, dishes, and utensils were the best I have ever seen in a rental property—6 cutting boards! We cooked breakfast and dinner all 4 days. The setting, which overlooked Loch Eil, was rural, with sheep, birds and deer; just an incredibly peaceful place. Karl and his father built the log cabin many years ago and the craftsmanship is outstanding—a great place to hangout by a fire during rainy rest days between sight seeing. We did a long day trip to Skye and a short trip to Loch Ness’s Urquhart castle. Otherwise some excursions into fort Williams for groceries. Karl was an excellent host and the place, one of the best I have ever stayed in. Highly recommend.

Lovely chalet

We absolutely found our stay extremely comfortable. Very well equipped kitchen and we had all we needed for our group of 6 with 2 kids. Karl was superb and even helped us start a woodfire. Very serene location.

Short Stay Relax!

from the very beginning on booking this chalet, the owner was immediately in touch with us giving full information on directions to the chalet and information regarding the chalet...incredibly helpful and clear and concise. It was a beautiful chalet set by the loch and was remote but also within 20 minutes of Fort William. The owner greeted us at the entrance, showed us everything. we knew he was there to help but never intrusive. Loved the three days there and absolutely would go back and recommend it to others. Will be planning for next year.

Short stay for a french family

A very nice stay close to almost a private loch. Perfect chalet fully compliant with all the expectations. Very warm host and pleasant instants having a glas of beer in the beginning of the first evenning, thanks to Karl. A wonderful souvenir in an outsdanding place. One of my best experience!

Wonderful log cabin with spectacular view

Log cabin is much more than what you see in pictures. Up on arrival it took our breath away. Log cabin it self was spotless cleaned to perfection. Karl met us on arrival and showed us everything in detail. There was no problem for carl to sort any problems that arise. There is planty garden for activities not far away from all main attractions. Who ever wondering if this place is worth staying i say go for it its wonderful log cabin with amazing host. Im so glad i stayed here and sure will come back in future. Thanks to karl

Amazing place near Port Williams

Karl was a great host, the place was clean and received fire wood for the wood burner. We even saw deers outside! Very close to the tourist attractions of fort Williams by car. Would come back again!

Lovely scenery and place to stay

Karl was very helpful upon arrival showing us how everything worked and made sure we were comfortable. The only tiny thing was finding the Chalet as google maps pin was set to the field over so just drive another 50 yards after Google tells you have arrived but even then the local neighbours were lovely helping us find it and it was a beautiful area and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

Idyllic Chalet

Karl is an excellent host, The fire was burning and the chalet was warm and welcoming when we arrived. We really enjoyed the home made shortbread and jam. Clean and comfortable with everything you needed for a home away from home. The location is brilliant, perfect for exploring the area, while waking up to views of Loch Eil to the front, and Ben Nevis peeping through to the back. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Dream cabin in a beautiful location

We absolutely adored our stay, it's a truly beautiful cabin with everything you need on hand. It's all about the cozy feel indoors and is deceptively spacious. Highly Recommend this Highland Dream

My husband and I had a wonderful time. It was our first trip to Scotland. After being in several cities this Chalet was a relaxing place. The host is very knowledgeable and keeps the place in great shape, clean with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. If you are looking for a place to relax and get away from the busy tourist attractions this Chalet is the perfect location. It is a fantastic hub for day trips to Mallaig and Glencoe.
