“The room was clean and perfect for 5 people. The staff was very nice and helps.us more than once with minor problems. We loved the pool and all the fruits trees around it. It was like staying at a botanical garden. The kids loved it. ”

Would have been an epic place 20 years ago when the skate park, tennis courts, arcade game, and air hockey were all in usable condition. Servers were nice, the beer was great, the food was amazing, and the restaurant views were so cool. ”

“I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. And don't forget about breakfast. Everyday, we had homemade to order……

“From welcoming us for an early check-in to hwlping us book a very early morning taxi to the airport....this hotel and its staff were absolutely amazing. We arrived well before the designated checkin time and were generously allowed to stow our luggage and usw the pool for thw few hours until 2pm. And what a pool! Peacocks just wandering around being beautiful. Iguanas sauntering. After drinks by the pool we checked in and a beautiful park behind the pool.Loved the room and the great air……

“A very lovely place with beautiful landscaping, a large property for walking around and hiking and two restaurants. Be in good shape because there is a lot of walking thru the beautiful grounds. Lots of birds and very friendly staff.”

“We stayed at this resort by chance for one night due to starting our vacation early because of winter weather in the states. I prefer more authentic Costa Rican hotels/resorts vs a chain hotel close to the airport. While the taxi ride was more expensive, I felt it was worth it. It seemed secluded, was quiet, the rooms were extremely clean, there were thermal pools as well as a nice pool area and the included breakfast was definitely a plus! The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced! ……
