Would use again
If you are up to a 15 minutes walk uphill to this property from the town centre then I can recommend this property. We would certainly use it again.
The beds were very comfortable (although the pillows were a bit lumpy). The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and there was a good supply of hot water in the mornings for two of us to shower. The TV proved a challenge to work but we finally worked out that it had Prime TV and Youtube. A brief explanation of the handsets would have been nice.
The property had everything you could need on holiday - washing machine, extra utility sink for washing off boots, drying rail, microwave, etc. It also had fans and heaters in the cupboards, which we didn't need. It was set away from the noise of the city and the traffic and we were almost unaware of other residents in the block, as they were so quiet. The barking dogs (which can, unfortunately, be found wherever you stay in Madeira, even near the best hotels) were just far enough away and did stop towards midnight.
The information from the owners both before and during the stay was excellent.
The only criticisms we had were the kitchen unit doors, which were well past their best, and the difficult key/lock on the front gate, but this did not affect our enjoyment of the property.
