I was pleased with this property. My children enjoyed the space in the room. The breakfast supply was very limited, and by the third morning there was no bread and tables had not been cleaned from the previous day. Overall the stay was decent for the price.

The young man working there was very helpful., with good customer service and prompt attention to our needs. The hallways were very clean. Carpets were clean and had no smoke or any other odors. It was a quiet place and had a decent Continental breakfast. The room was very spacious and clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay and this will be our regular hotel while in the area.

Cheap stay

Decent for a quick place to spend the night. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The lobby area is in need to updating and the complimentary breakfast was a joke. Two kids breakfast cereals, 4 slices of white bread, grape jelly, a carafe of orange juice in the mini fridge and a cold pot of coffee.

Staff was nice, bed was comfy. But the breakfast left a lot to be desired. As well as the ice machine not working. It took at least 5 swipes every time to open the door to the room…. And sometimes it wouldn’t lock so we’d come back and be able to just push the door open. It’s a cheap stay, so that’s a plus. But you definitely get what you pay for.

Clean & Comfortable, Breakfast Needs Improvement

Hotel and staff were excellent. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The only thing that could have been done much better was the morning breakfast and coffee. Selection was very limited (toast, jelly, cereal, milk, a couple of prepackaged sweet rolls was it) and it did not seem like the breakfast area was well attended to by the staff. Coffee went empty a lot and there just was not much to choose from.

Backroads Stay

One night stay for the music fest. Great, close location to walk to the venue. Bed was clean and comfy but coffee pot had lots of grounds in it from a previous user. Morning coffee and water were both about luke warm. We weren't there when it opened but still over an hour before services ended. Staff was very pleasant and courteous. Overall, happy with the stay.

Really Good Experience

This hotel is well maintained and clean. The staff were great. I locked my key card in the room, and the desk clerk was really kind about making a new. I was in the area during Hog Days in Kewanee, and this was the only hotel available. I was skeptical after a really awful experience at a Super 8 in Sioux City, IA. But the Super 8 in Galva is great! I have only good things to say.

The towels hanging in the bathroom smelled awful I asked for additional clean linen and it was provided. The staff were great, very friendly. The room was very outdated and there were crumbs on the floor and a dead bug on the lamp base. The beds and pillows were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced

Had to get door key cards rescanned every night. Room was pretty clean, no cups or ice. Had to unplug refrigerator in order to plug in the microwave. A simple plug strip would have worked. Continental breakfast? I mean I know this place is in a rundown town and not many people are using the hotel but that being said we could do better than cereal. Other than a couple of little things the place was ok at best. We have family in Galva and need a place to crash here and there for a couple of days so we will be back. Thanks Hotel 8

When we came back at night, the key card would not work desk fix it. When we came back at mid afternoon, same issue, could not locate manager. No breakfast, only pot of coffee, luke warm. No major networks on TV, no instructions in room. Trash stayed piled up outside for 2 plus days. Did enjoyed the veterian park spot.

The price of the room included breakfast. Other than coffee, dry cereal and orange juice, there was nothing available to eat during our visit. When contacted the office staff simply said “they ran out”. There was no bread of any kind on the breakfast bar and the toaster had an out of order sign above it. Other food options nearby were unavailable due to a storm. They knew we were coming but did nothing to fulfill their responsibilities.

Was a fine room for pretty cheap. However, the queen beds were definitely not actual queen size, the AC did not function well and was unusually noisy when it kicked on, and the door security latch was half broken off. Overall not a bad stay, just average
