"I couldn’t believe how beautiful this property is and the attention to detail was impeccable. Even the lounge area with cappuccino, latte, pastries, etc. were a pleasant surprise. It’s in the perfect location too, we walked everywhere without any problems."

"I booked a bed in Pod in The Courtroom (mixed dormitory). The room is huge but everything echos within the space. I know there is only so much the hostel can do but one of the guest was laughing throughout the night. Then he woke up around 6AM to make a loud phone call. Another guest must have confronted him because it was quiet then. These are risk you take booking a share hostel. Regardless, I would stay here again. It's right in the center of everything."
"Beds are extremely comfortable and bathrooms very spacious in the superior double rooms! Lovely recent renovations to lobby and new restaurant area this year. Staff very friendly and accommodating. This was our second visit in two years and we would stay here again- awesome location with everything in walking distance from the hotel."
Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by The Unlimited Collection
10/10 Excellent
"From time of check-in to check out the staff where amazing.
Breakfast was delicious, rooms comfy & clean and hotel was ideally located to access both Old and New Town Edinburgh within a 10 minute walk."
"This is a great hotel. The location is perfect. It’s near many attractions and we could see the castle right outside our window! The staff was very helpful. The windows were very soundproof and we had a very quiet stay."
"The Royal Mile has become a zoo, but it's also the spine of Edinburgh (literally), and so a hotel on an extension of the Royal Mile that's both centrally located and not quite so frenetic is a great compromise. The service was very good, the rooms clean, and the cooking facilities and full-size fridge meant we ate out when we wanted to, not because we had to. The included breakfast was about average (please find a better supplier for the consistently stale pain au chocolat!) but filling, and we found everything easily walkable, from the castle to Arthur's Seat (okay, climbable) to the Water of Leith. I'd happily stay here again if we return to Edinburgh."
"A stones throw from Haymarket Station. A walkable distance from the centre of Edinburgh, nicely of the beaten track at the end of the day. Plenty of local bars, restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores in the immediate area. "
