“The cottage was very cosy and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was so comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean.”

“This hotel is not an accomodation for families even of they have family rooms. I did not feel at ease with my 2 young children. Do NOT visit if you are travelling with young children. Nothing is easy everything is very expensive… the room was not clean, there was mold, the toiket didn’t flush properly and staff (and some clients) was looking at me from far up. It’s best to avoid if you don’t like this type of BS.”

“This is a fabulous base for exploring the Cotswolds. The staff is very helpful, and the restaurant is very good. There is also a shopping area close by (King’s Walk). The hotel car park is difficult to access. There is construction that prevents Google Maps from providing accurate directions. The front desk staff tries to give directions, but it was hard to digest. Overall the hotel room and amenities and breakfast were quite good.”

“The public areas show off the heritage of this very old house to great effect. We loved the breakfast - both staff & food were outstanding. The extensive grounds contain the Golf courses, but even with magnificent trees and the lake, there is no escape from Golf. The only significant disappointment was Wifi coverage in the Mathern annexe. I spent far too much quality time back & forth to reception to no avail. Management seem to be addressing the issue, so fingers crossed for future……

“A clean, well maintained, and picturesque hotel in a lovely location. Reception staff and bar staff were helpful and friendly, the restaurant was a little more chaotic with missed food orders, unable to answer questions about food, and dropping used breakfast cutlery in our laps causing us to have to change clothes. The room was fine, although somewhat basic lacking any standout touches. The iron provided was fairly useless and caused brown stains on my white shirt the morning of attending a……

“Allocated me a dirty room (like literally not cleaned with towels on floor etc). Next room had aircon but it didn’t works they said they would fix but never did. Service at breakfast was terrible one day (fine the other).”

“The place itself was immaculate. However the moment we checked in we went to the spa where the cryotherapy was broken and we couldn’t order any refreshments as the lady said she couldn’t leave her post. We waited for over an hour and half for dinner and there was no advice on things to do on activities.”
