I was involved in running events during my stay and had to leave early each morning and unable to take breakfast. I found the staff both friendly and helpful. On our first night my wife found the pillows too hard and these were replaced the next day. I would consider staying there again if I am in Harogate.

The room was very underwhelming along with the tea tray offering. The room was very dark and very basic. The bathroom wasn’t great with the toilet making a funny noise and the bath panel was in total disrepair. For £80+ for the night my husband and I were expecting much more, especially after a wonderful b & b stay in Whitby.

Wonderful hotel from the beautiful facade and wonderful welcome from friendly staff to the beautiful, clean well appointed room. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was excellent. We were bowled over as we brought our two dogs and are used to getting dingy yet to be updated rooms. Here the dogs were welcomed with a biscuit and the room supplied dog beds, bowls and toys. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was very good and the again service was faultless. Very convenient to the town centre but unfortunately we didn’t have time to explore. We will be back!

Accessible twin room had only 1 easy chair that had its back to the television. No complimentary shampoo,conditioner,shower cap etc. only hand wash. Had to advise of a nasty smell in bathroom. Had to pay an extra £8 for parking??!! No stand to put your suitcase on to unpack. Difficult to see television from one of the beds as television did not move freely. Food was very good the gala dinner and breakfast.

The hotel and staff were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The restaurant room is stunning. Our only gripe - and this may sound like nit picking - the ‘ambient’ music was an endless collection of awful cover versions of well known songs. Other than that, excellent.

Our room was dated but we were in the original section of the hotel. From the time we checked in, the staff at reception made us feel like we were interrupting their chats, could not help us with recommendations for dinner, directions,…When asked about breakfast, we were told to read the handout. The breakfast buffet was amazing and delicious.

The rooms were too warm. Couldnt sleep as it was too hot. Radiators were not on. The noise from builders was inexcusable. 8 a.m work started on a Saturday. The building was shaking. They were either using a kango for getting concrete off the walls. Or a road breaker. We checked out at 9.30 a.m no breakfast couldnt get out fast enough. The man on the desk said im sorry that was it. We were there for a wedding the day before. Had we been notified of the work we could have stayed else where. I will be contacting cedar court hotel. I would like some compensation for the noice and inconvenience of having to get out of the hotel. M.mulloy@hotmail.co.uk
